Eligibility
1. Candidates who have passed the UG degree under 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 pattern of study in the following subjects can apply for B.Ed. through distance mode: Tamil, Tamil Literature, English, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Applied Physics, Geo-Physics, Bio-Physics, Electronics, Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Botany, Environmental Science, Bio-Technology, Plant-Biology, Zoology, Micro-Biology, History, Geography, Applied Geography, Computer Science, Computer Application and Information Technology.
2. Candidates who have passed the PG degree in the following subjects can only apply for B.Ed. through distance mode: Economics, Commerce and Home Science, Political Science, Sociology & Indian Culture
3. As per NCTE norms, Candidates having Graduation/Post Graduation Degree with 55%
marks are eligible. There shall be relaxation of 5% of marks in favour of SC/ST/BC&MBC. In-service teachers with 2 years of full-time teaching experience in a Nursery/ Primary / Middle / Secondary / Higher secondary / Matriculation School in Tamil Nadu recognized by the State or Central Government can only apply.
The following are not eligible.
* Candidates having a UG or PG Degree without +2 qualifications (The Degrees obtained through Open University System) are not eligible.
* Candidates who have graduated under Double Degree / Additional Degree Programmes are not eligible for admission.
* Candidates having a P.G Degree in Cross-Major Subject (ie. PG subject differing from UG subject) are not eligible.
* Those who are working in Colleges/ ITI’s/ Polytechnics are not eligible.
No Entrance Examination

Application form along with prospectus can be obtained in person from the Department of
Education (DD&CE) and at the study centres of MANONMANIAM SUNDARANAR
UNIVERSITY (Contact Telephone No. 9487999723 ) on payment of Rs.500/- in person or by post on payment of Rs.550/- by DD in favour of THE REGISTRAR, MANONMANIAM
SUNDARANAR UNIVERSITY payable at Tirunelveli. Applications can also be downloaded
from www.msuniversity.org.in.
