CMPF in Pawan's Satyagrahi

Though actor Pawan Kalyan announced the launch of Common Man Protection Force (CMPF) on October 22nd, last year, nothing much is known about it in the days that followed. He had even allotted a corpus fund of Rs. 1 Crore from his total savings of "Rs. 1.32 Crore". The major and minor political parties and some social groups also apprehended that formation of such a force would result in heralding the cult of private armies in the state. All said and done, the CMPF will have its presence and activities onscreen, i.e. in Satyagrahi, which is tentatively scheduled to have its shoot from January 2009 with Pawan Kalyan directing it; and Nookarapu Suryaprakasa Rao producing it.

Chiru will create history:

NagababuActor Nagababu today said some sections are given to undermine the stamina of Chiranjeevi fans; and this false opinion would be shattered soon. He addressed a big gathering of mega fans and general public at Dondavarti in Vizag district after taking part in a road show. "Chiranjeevi is going to create new history. You all be prepared to join the great event. Social service activities are the right answer to the critics," he said. The fans profusely garlanded Nagababu, hailing the leadership of Chiranjeevi. Meanwhile, the mega fans took out a huge rally in Anantapur this morning. At a similar function, Dr. Samaram termed Chiranjeevi as a "Tsunami," set to create a new trend in politics.

Shriya: Exposing for Exposure?

Shriya had been in the news for controversial outfit since the time of Rajinikanth's Sivaji, where she had to issue public apology that she'd be careful in choosing her outfits! Well, she has really been choosing her outfits carefully since then, and the recent coverpage of Maxim proves her "careful choice" of outfits!
Now that she goes international, there seems to be this common presumption that "exposing" should increase as "exposure" increases! Shriya, who has entered the Telugu film industry with a girl-next-door image is now opening doors to controversies with her outfits.
All her recent stills in media indicate that she's deliberately sending out feelers that she's ready to meet the international audiences now! What more, she's starting out into the international domain, barely!

To counter the ‘megastar’s proposed party, Congress is desperately seeking ‘other star power. Mahesh Babu’s family including his father Krishna is closely associated with the ruling party but the ‘prince’ stays far away from the politics.
Congress Party gets support from Mahesh Babu’s fans. All India Mahesh Krishna Sena has already met Krishna and showed their plan of action. The members will participate in charity work heavily prior to Mahesh's birthday. This charity work will bring Mahesh good image among the public, they argued.
Though Congress Party denies any association with the Sena, some of the leaders are supporting it.

What's it all about?
The tagline "We for Victory" tells a lot of the story itself! Land mafia, Land grabbing, contemporary politics that plays with the middle-class people, corrupt government officials and elected leaders, local goons - all these on one side, and the hero and his friends pitted on the other, and you have Victory. In short, Vijay Chandra (Nithin) is a strong, daring youth of a middle-class family (Tanikella Bharani & Sana) that wants to join the police force (and that explains his 8-pack body). Local MLA Devaraj (Ashutosh Rana) is also a land grabber who eyes plots in Seetharam Nagar, located 50 km away from the HITEC City!
These plots were originally given away by a Gandhiian freedom fighter Pingali Venkataramayya (Ravi Kondala Rao), because the latter firmly believes that land, air, and water belong to everyone and no one should try to own them. Hero's family being one among the original owners, the hero tries in vain to bring unity among people to fight against the MLA. Will his friends Ravi (Shashank), Satyam (Duvvasi Mohan), Sindhu (Sindhu Tholani), etc.) help him fight the battle or leave him as a lone warrior? How can he motivate them against fear of facing the wrath of the baddies?

Performances
Cast:
Nitin built up his body as required for the character that gets into action as and when necessary. His dance in the first song is done with ease, and his performance is good but not great! He still needs to work on his diction some more. Mamatha Mohandas has a role that's not strongly connected to the story, as Janaki who's supposed to marry Nithin. She looks good on the screen and has the right performance too, but her role is largely wasted. Sindhu Tholani appears as a TV5 reporter that cares to see a better society. Her performance is okay, though in a limited role. Shashank is good in a boy-next-door kind of role, who helps execute the protagonist's plans. Duvvasi Mohan gets an important role as one of the two friends of the hero, and he does offer some relief through his role.
Ashutosh Rana has his usual ease in the role of a politician turned goon. Among the comedians, M.S. Narayana gets a role similar to that of Prakash Raj's in Premaku Velaayeraa...! (Remember Prakash Raj-Brahmanandam episodes?) His character is rightly etched to suit the theme of the movie, and he does a good job presenting it too.Brahmanandam-Ali episode was intended to give some comedic relief while showing current scenario of corruption in government offices, but Abhinayasri's inclusion was unncessary.
Krishna Bhagawan, who's always appreciated for his timing and satirical
comedy, has hardly any dialogues in the film, and is thus wasted! Tanikella Bharani did well as the protagonist's dad who also helps him fight the battle, and Sana did her part well too. Ravibabu, as the MLA's advocate, is used more as a comedian than a villain's yes-man. The rest of the cast is adequate.

Technical Departments:
The story revolves around contemporary issues and daily news that concerns each one of us - the common public. Such thought-provoking stories laced around current social affairs are required to be made as movies, and the director should be appreciated for sticking to the same genre after Samanyudu. However, the screenplay could have been a lot tighter and without discontinuities. The first half moves at a relaxed pace without even touching the actual story nearly half-way through the first half! However, the interval bang maintains the curiosity of the audience, and the second pace moves through real story.
While the first half seems wasted, the second half has songs that were quite unnecessary for the movie's flow. On the whole too, song placement is bad. And, some of the songs didn't require dances by the hero, you'd feel when you listen to the lyrics, but he's made to dance in all songs except the theme song in the background! Choreography was good for the first song. However, the picturization of the song prEmanEdi... is innovative.
Dialogues are aptly written for this movie that makes you think, with sprinkles of comedy here and there. Fights are just okay. Camera work is quite impressive. Music is adequate, but doesn't seem a good fit for the lyrics. Re-recording leaves a lot to expect. Editing is okay. Title graphics need a special mention, and the director should be appreciated for the idea of using newspapers, according to the theme of the movie. The hero's
gym trainer is also credited, as a token of thanks for showcasing Nithin as the first 8-pack hero in Telugu. Voice-over Jagapathi Babu was limited.

Impressive Scenes/Dialogues:
* Nithin to Bharani: mee meeda oTTu! Bharani to Sana: osE, nee boTTu!* Shashank: Tiffin lEka okaDu EDustunTE tip kOsam inkODu EDchinaTTundi!* Nithin: Gandhi gaaru mahaatmuDu endukayyaarO ippuDu arthamaindi! kOTla mandiO unity elaa teesukocchaarO!* Nithin: ivaaLa prajallO unity raavaalanTE galliikO Gandhi raavali, sir!* Shashank: Daivadheenam anna need pErukii, nuvvu chEsE panulakii Emainaa sambandham undaa? Krishna Bhagawan: paanDavula peddannayya Dharmaraju ani pEru peTTukuni joodam aaDalaa? idee antE!

Bottom Line:
The film is supposed to be a thought-provoking movie on the whole, and it succeeds in being one. If you're looking for a movie that has a story around current affairs and political games played around people, this movie is for you. It doesn't have much commercial elements or comedy.
Rating: 3/5

Rajinikanth to sport Pawan Kalyan's attire

When Kamal Haasan portrayed 10 different characters for his recent flick 'Dasavatharam', Rajinikanth is getting ready to appear in 20 different get-ups that too in a single song in 'Kathanayakudu', that was choreographed on Rajinikanth and Nayanatara.
Another surprising point in this song is that most of the get-ups he chose to wear were from his earlier films. Besides that, it is reliably learnt that Rajinikanth is going to appear like Pawan Kalyan in 'Jalsa'.
According to the insiders of the film unit, Rajinikanth and Jagapathibabu are playing the roles of driver and conductor in a local bus service. Rajini goes in search of a career in film industry and turns a star hero. Then he returns to his place to help Jagapatibabu. What happened next had to be seen on the screen.
The film was directed by P Vasu and produced by C Aswanidutt on the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies.
The producer is planning to launch the audio on June 30 and release the film in July.

Ready -Review

Cast: Ram, Genelia, Kota Srinivas Rao, Brahmanandham, Sunil Jayaprakash Reddy, Chandramohan, MS Narayana and others

Cameo: Nagababu, Tamannah, Navdeep.
Music: Devi Sri Prasad
Director: Srinu Vaitla.
Finally, another comedy film of director Srinu Vaitla, has released after almost a gap of 14 months. Last time it was “Dhee” which was relished by the audience for its comedy scenes and dialogues. READY is also a film with a comedy touch which has drama, sentiment, fights and romantic songs as spices in it. After the success of “Dubai Seenu” and “Dhee”, Srinu Vaitla is getting a label as a director of humor and in his latest film “Ready” he has succeeded in chiseling it, from the story.

Story
Chandu (Ram) is a young boy who grows up in a joint family. But his deed of helping his niece to elope with her lover and marry him, makes other family members miffed up. So the entire family decides to sideline him and so Chandu is kept away from all the family concerns.
But as usual, due to the young age and hot blood, Chandu promises to help another friend of his, to unite him with his lover. In this processes accidentally he kidnaps Pooja (Genelia) by mistake. This accident of kidnapping Pooja turns into a sweet incident as Chandu starts admiring Pooja.
Coming to the back ground of Pooja, she is a daughter of a rich NRI parents. But her uncle’s, which are the characters played by Kota and Jayaprakash are involved in a cat fight to make their sons’ marry Pooja in order to get her whole riches.
So they are behind the hero and the heroine and then the chase begins. Chandu somehow manages to induce Pooja into their joint family and soon Pooja gets liked by all in the family of Chandu. Chandu falls in love with Pooja. After certain meaningful incidents the girl falls in love with the boy and then the love sparks and the duet songs ignite on the silver screen.
Then the climax of the movie appears in which Chandu outperforms the villains and then marries Pooja with his elder’s blessings. So a happy ending is given to the film as usual like in all typical films of Srinu Vaitla.Performances
Ram is looking young and talented in every fame. His looks, his body language suit him for the character of the lover boy and his dialogue expressions as well as his acting skills are improving by film by film. He acts well as a mass and a class hero in some scenes which will satisfy all sects of audience. Some of his mannerisms depict Ravi Teja and some of the dialogues also are mimicked like him. But overall Ram gives a Perfect justification to his character.
Genelia as usually looks apt for her bubbly character role. Her costumes are well suited with out much skin show. But her character which involves a lot of innocence has been well enacted.
The comedy track of Brahmanandham, MS, Sunil try to churn some comedy from the film story and Brahmanandham succeeded in it by acting as a McDowell Murthy. Rest of the comedians does their jobs perfectly.
Kota Srinivas Rao and Jaya Prakash Reddy have acted well as villains. But their dialogues also churn some laughter in the public.
Nagababu, Tamannah and Navdeep do a cameo role in the film and that has to be seen on the big screen only.
The music department has been little bit back sided. Though Devi Sri as given some melody music and duets, his usual mix of “Bomarillu” music and “Jalsa” will make us sense that the films music lacks punch and Vigor.
The story has been directed well by Srinu Vaitla, but some more ingredients and twists to the story could have been more theming to the movie.
On the whole the movie is lengthy of 2 hours and 53 minutes and patiently has to be watched. Especially the second half is little bit dragged and so is predictable.
The film is an average film and must be complimented for Brahmanandham’s acting. “Dhee” film also had Brahmanandham in a hilarious role and this film will also add some limelight to his career.
Hero Honda keen to get Mahesh Babu

Well, the soft drink Thumbs Up for one year was identified along with the Tollywood Heart throb and glamour icon Mahesh Babu.
Fresh after delivering the super hit 'Pokiri', it seems that the market of this Tollywood icon has gone up no only in films but also in the advertisement circles too.

Dil Raju claims Parugu beats Pokiri!

Charmme in and as Mudhapappu?

A young director is said to have roped in Charmme for his debut film with its title in air – Mudhapappu. Despite the actress shedding a lot of weight in the recent months, she still holds that burly vivacity to cheer the audiences. The script of the proposed film has been ready, sources say. However, Mudhapappu might also be the nickname of the actress in the film, while the option might change for the film title. There is no any confirmation on this hazy buzz. Charmme's new film titled 16-Days is likely to release next month

Srikanth’s Kousalya Supraja

'RAINBOW' gets final touches

Final touches are being made for 'Rainbow' directed and produced by VN Aditya and jointly presented by Sri Siddhartha Movies and Bharat Art Pictures with Rahul of 'Happy Days'-fame, Sonal Chauhan, a Mumbai model and Sindhu Menon in the lead.
The director-cum-producer says, 'It is a delicate love story. We equated the problems and happiness faced by the lovers with the colours of the rainbow. Well-known singer Nihal scored music for the first time to our film. In fact, the music would remain an asset for the movie. All the songs are getting a very good response from the audiences. Sunitha rendered all the songs with an excellent melody. Several big heroes and directors played prominent roles in our film because of my cordial relationship with the film industry for the past several years. We are very confident that our movie would attract all classes of audiences. We are making efforts to release the film during June.
Dasavatharam- Review-Average
After watching Dasavatharam- the so called magnum opus of the year- an ardent fan of Kamal Hassan will ask why indeed it is called a magnum opus in the first place. Why was all the hype, tension, cases, expectations and unnecessary expenses wasted on this average film. Once again, Kamal fails to attract Tamil audiences with his own script. The story starts with an incident taking place in 12th century during the rule of the Chozha dynasty when Hindus were divided into Saivites and Vaishnavites. Rangarajan Nambi (Avatar No.1) is a loyal disciple of Ramanuja Azhwar. King Kulothunga (Napolean - what a fantastic performance!), a follower of Lord Siva, compels Nambi to change his religious beliefs and worship of Lord Vishnu but Nambi refuses.
After this meaningless first avatar, the movie shifts to the present scientific world. Govind (Avatar No.2), an American scientist invents a dangerous bio weapon in his lab but wants to destroy the same after realizing its dangerous consequences. But the US Govt and scientists don't allow him to do that. One fine day, Govind runs away from the lab with the bio weapon but Fletcher (Avatar No.3), a former CIA officer turned villian, chases him to get the weapon back to destroy other countries. The weapon is mistakenly sent to an Indian address by courier where a 95 year old lady (Avatar No.4) receives the parcel. Govind immediately rushes to India and traces down the address. He is followed by Fletcher who is accompanied by his prostitute cum translator (Mallika Sherawat). The old lady refuses to give the weapon to them without understanding the danger it could cause and puts it inside a statue of Lord Vishnu. The scientist captures the statue and starts running with it pulling Asin close relative of the old lady, along with him. Fletcher chases him till the end of the film. A foolish police officer Balram Naidu (Avatar No.5) too is in the race always chasing both these characters. In between a Punjabi singer (Avatar No.5), US President George Bush ( Avatar No.6), a tall Muslim ( Avatar No.7), a martial arts trainer ( Avatar No.8) and a Southern district resident Annachi ( Avatar No.9) comes, does something and disappears. Finally the tsunami comes to the rescue of the Scientist and destroys the weapon along with drowning Fletcher . The statue of Lord Rangaraja which was immersed in the sea in 12th century also appears on the shore after the tsunami. What did Kamal Hassan really want to convey? Lord Ranganatha, the almighty who is sleeping inside the sea for centuries, finally sends a tsunami to destroy the bio weapon along with the bad guy. No doubt, Dasavatharam is really an average movie with a poor plot and characterization that fails in most of the departments and fails to attract the viewers. What is the necessity or compulsion of portraying Kamal in 10 different get ups?To create some mindless hype or register it as a record in the Industry? Highly idiotic! Particularly the role of Punjabi Singer, Muslim tall man Kalifullah Khan, Annachi and Japanese martial arts trainer unnecessarily intervene in the flow of story. There is no professionalism in makeup also. For most of the characters, the makeup looks very amateur. Kamal looks like an animation character playing the bad guys role because the makeup is over done. However, one must appreciate him for the hardwork put into playing so many different characters to perform in many roles simultaneously at this age.Apart from Kamal, Asin plays dual roles for the first time but nothing is special in any of her get ups. Her performance is also not par excellence. Jayapradha appears in few scenes and does well in them. Nothing is special in Himesh Reshammiya's songs or Devi Sri Prasad's background score. Ravi Varman unnecessarily lifts the camera to top angle and shakes even inside a house.Technically the film is far superior to any other Tamil movie in some scenes, particularly in the tsunami climax. The special effects of Jennie in the last 15 minutes simply rocks. Also the body language of Japanese Kamal is simply excellent. Watch this movie to see Kamal in 10 different avatars. But is it really enough to make a fan to watch a film? This is a big question stand before Kamal fans those known as the lovers of good movies like sensational Mahanadhi or Kuruthipunal!Kamalji, we expected a lot from you!

Verdict: Not up to expectations! Credits
Cast: Kamal Hassan, Asin, Jayapradha
Music: Himesh Reshammiya
Camera: Ravi Varman
Direction: K.S.Ravikumar
Producer: V.Ravichandran

Kajal and Allu Arjun together!

Kajal has joined the league of big actresses now. Big projects are raining on her. Soon after pairing with Ram Charan Teja, she has been roped in to play opposite Allu Arjun in his new film to be directed by Sukumar.
She plays the role of Geeta in this sequel to blockbuster Arya. Earlier Tamanna was selected for this film but Sukumar and the team has felt that Kajal best suits for this role which is extension to the character that became hugely popular in Arya. Tamanna is not doing the movie.
As this film is sequel, the main characters - Arya (Allu Arjun), Geeta (Anuradha) and her boyfriend Ajay (Shiva Balaji) from the original are being repeated. But from the cast, only Allu Arjun is acting in the sequel. Allu Arjun’s close friend and hero Navadeep is roped in for the role that was originally done by Shiva Balaji.
The film will begin regular shoot from next month.

Ileana - Exclusive Interview

Ileana, without doubt, is numero uno star in Tollywood. And one of the highest paid actresses in South India. She commands huge following among the current generation actresses almost equal to a top hero! She was a part of the success of movies such as Pokiri, Devadas, Jalsa, Raakhi and Bhale Dongalu. She's rarely seen talking in public. Last year, she attended the TANA convention in the USA, and when the organizers booked a very big hall to meet the audience, the hall was jam-packed and people were standing outside too just to have a glimpse of her! She answered all the questions very patiently.

Q: So, how are you enjoying the success of Jalsa and good response for your role in Bhale Dongalu?
It is a double bonanza for me. I am really happy about the success of the both the films!

Q: Your film Pokiri was much bigger success than the debut film Devadas.. .
True, but Devadas is always close to my heart as it is my debut film and the character I did in Devadas is close to my original self. So I love Devadas a lot, not that I don't love Pokiri, but I surely like Devadas more!

Q: You worked with best directors in Telugu within a short span!
Of course, I am very lucky to work with wonderful directors like YVS gaaru, Puri Jaganath, Krishnavamsi, V.N.Aditya, Trivikram gaaru, Vijayabhaskar gaaruetc. It is luck and my hard work which paid off to work with such a great directors.

Q: How was your interaction with them?
I never had any problem with anyone. Working with them is like learing a new thing every day! But, above all, I definitely have gratitude towards YVS gaaru. I was totally a newcomer when I was doing Devadas and did not know anything about films. It is he who taught me patiently. So I am definitely more indebted to him than to others.

Q: How do you rate yourself as an actress?
I am working hard and I am improving with every film, I could say, but I think others should tell that, and not myself (laughs)!

Q: How was working with heroes Like Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh and NTR Jr.?
Pawan gaaru and Mahesh gaaru are both much reserved people. They never used to interfere with others' works - their policy was to keep to themselves, complete their work and go. Tarak (NTR Jr.) is fun to work with. He mingles with everyone easily. But everyone is a real professional in that they all work equally hard for scene betterment.

Q: How was it working with Siddharth?
No comment, please!

Q: Everyone knows that you are hot property in Telugu, but since you also worked in a Tamil film, I ask this: Any plans of continuing there also?
My film in Tamil didn't do well there, and I was not really happy working in Tamil either. I had a bad experience working in that film. So I am not really keen to work in Tamil films in future, unless a good opportunity comes in. Though I was offered the Tamil version of Pokiri, I was unable to work for it then due to clash of dates with the other Tamil film I was doing and I also met with an accident and was not able to work for sometime caused delays in completion of my other films too.

Q: How do you feel being the highest paid actress in Telugu?
Who said that I am highest paid? All those are rumors, and I do not think I am at that level where people cannot reach me! I am reasonably paid ..not over-paid definitely.
Next..On Rumors..And Love..

Q: Are you working in Hindi films now?
That's a rumor too - there's nothing of that sort of as of now! I am very much available and am doing more films here (laughs).

Q: Being a star, don't you think you miss friends and family more?
Not really. I know many people who like to leave everything for this stardom! I am very fortunate to get this life. I haven't missed much as I do not have many friends. I have very little, close circle of friends, and I am always in touch with them. And whatever I am today, my family was always there for me. I am very fortunate that way too.

Q: How's your dad's reaction in being recognized as a star's father than himself?
He's very proud of my success and was always a great support to me. Not only him, but the whole of my family is very supportive to me.

Q: Do you see yourself as a Goan or a Mumbai-ite?
(Laughs) Part of both. My dad is from Goa and my mom is from Mumbai. I was in Mumbai for the first ten years of my life and then we shifted to Goa.

Q: How did the flops like Khatarnak and Munna affect you?
See, for any film, we do the same hard work, and it's not like we work less for a flop film. Will the flops affect us? Surely, yes! But nothing is in our hands. And, I do not think everyone keeps giving hits constantly, right?

Q: What next?
As of now, I am on a vacation with my family and am just catching up with things and taking rest. I haven't yet signed any new film yet. I'll let you know soon.

Q: Are you in love with anyone?
Ileana: (Laughs) No, I am not, and I do not have time for off-screen romance
