EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

(1) For TECHNICAL OFFICER/D (Publication) :

Qualification

M.Sc. (Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences) with 60% marks.

Desirable qualification

Diploma/Degree in either Publication and Printing or Science Journalism/Science Communication from any recognised university.

Experience

Minimum five years experience in publication of a Science Journal/Magazine or in writing popular science articles or working as a Publication Officer in a Government/Semi Government Organization. In case of candidates having desirable qualification mentioned above, the experience will be relaxed by one year.

(2) For TECHNICIAN /B (Library):

Qualification

HSC (10+2) or equivalent with minimum of 50% marks aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Desirable qualification and experience

Certificate course in Library Science and experience in Library will be preferred.

Note : Those who have passed or appearing for final year B.Sc/ Diploma/ equivalent will not be considered for appointment to the post post of technician/ B.

AGE LIMIT : For post No. 1- between 18 and 35 years as on 01.07.2009

For post No. 2 - between 18 and 25 years as on 01.07.2009

Relaxation in the upper age limit of five years shall be admissible to all persons who had ordinarily been domiciled in Kashmir division of the state of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from the 1st day of January 1980 to 31st day of December 1989 as per rules subject to production of certificates from authorities designated. Any person intending to avail this relaxation of age limit shall submit a certificate from (a) The District Magistrate in the Kashmir Division within whose jurisdiction he/she had ordinarily resided or (b) any other Authority designated in the behalf by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir to the effect that he/she had ordinarily been domiciled in the Kashmir division of the state of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from 1st day of January 1980 to 31st day of December 1989 Age relaxation for Ex-servicemen will be provided as per Government of India orders. Relaxation in the case of departmental candidates who are working in the same line/allied cadres and heaving substantial or extraordinary working knowledge as rules.


METHOD OF SELECTION :

The candidates will be called for personal interview based on the academic records and experience in the relevant fields. The final selection will be based on the performance of the candidates in the interview. The personal interview will be held at Mumbai.

NEW PENSION SCHEME :

Selected candidates on their appointment will be governed by the New Contributory Pension Scheme which has come into effect from 01.01.2004.

PLACE OF POSTING :

Selected candidates will be posted in Mumbai, but will carry with them the liability of posting to any part of India in any of the constituent units of the Department of Atomic Energy.

TRAVELLING ALLOWANCE :

SC/ST candidates called for interview will be paid traveling allowance as per rules. However travelling allowance is not admissible to those SC/ST candidates who are already in Central/State Government services, Central and State Government Corporation, Public Undertakings, Local Government Institutions and Panchayats and the concession availed from Railways as per present Government announcement for those who are undertaking journey for attending interview.

The candidates called for interview from out station for the post of Technical Officer/D will be paid to and fro rail fare by second sleeper class or actual fare whichever is less as per rules.

HOW TO APPLY :

The application as per prescribed proforma should be typewritten or neatly handwritten only on one side of full-scale plain paper to be filled in all respects and the same may be forwarded to the Under Secretary (Administration), Department of Atomic Energy, Anushakti Bhavan, C.S.M. Marg, Mumbai – 400 001 not later than the 28/11/2009.

Persons working as regular employees/trainees in the Central/State Government/Semi Government/ Government/Public Sector Undertakings or Autonomous Bodies or any organizations which is aided by Government should submit their applications through proper channel. They may, however, submit an advance copy of the application directly to the above address so that it reaches on or before the last date.

For the post of Technical Officer /D each application should be accompanied by non refundable crossed IPO/DD for Rs.50/- only (Fifty only) payable at Mumbai in favour of Pay & Accounts Officer, DAE. However candidates belonging to SC/ST, dependents of defence personnel killed in action and persons with physical disability are exempted from attaching fees of Rs.50/- (Fifty Only) as above. Persons with physical disability should produce necessary certificates from Government Hospitals/ Medical Boards in support of their claim

The envelope containing the application should be superscribed as “Application for the post of _______________________ against advertisement No.3/10/2008/Admn.”

PHOTOGRAPH :

One recent passport size photograph should be enclosed alongwith the application and another photograph should be affixed in the space provided for on the right hand top corner of application.


COPIES OF CERTIFICATES :

Candidates should submit along with their application attested SINGLE COPY of certificates of:

1. Educational qualifications and technical qualifications (mark sheets and degree certificate).

2. Date of birth (Matriculation/Secondary examination certificate or equivalent certificate).

3. Work experience, if any.

4. Discharge certificates from Defence Service (in case of Ex-Servicemen.)

5. The proof of claim that the candidates belongs to SC/ST/OBC (applicable to SC/ST/OBC candidates

only).

6. Disability certificate (if applicable).

7. Proof of dependent of defence service personnel killed in action.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS :

(1) Applications which are not in conformity with the above requirements e.g. application not in prescribed format/not accompanied with relevant attested copies of the certificates, photographs and also application, which is received after the last date prescribed will be rejected.

(2) Department of Atomic Energy reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of posts or cancel the advertisement depending upon the actual requirement.

(3) Mere fulfillment of requirement as laid down in the advertisement does not qualify a candidate to be called for interview. Where the number of applications received in response to the advertisement is large in number and it is not practicable for this Department to call all the candidates for interview, the Department reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates to a reasonable limit on the basis of career records, percentage of marks in the qualifying examinations and experience.

(4) No correspondence from the candidate not selected for interview/appointment will be entertained.
