RECRUITMENT OF GEN/OBC/SC/ST CANDIDATES AS HEAD CONSTABLE (RADIO
OPERATOR)/ HEAD CONSTABLE (FITTER) AND ASSISTANT SUB INSPECTOR (RADIO
MECHANIC) IN BSF COMMUNICATION SET UP-2009
Applications are invited from male Indian citizens belonging t o G eneral, Other Backward
Classes, Scheduled castes and Scheduled Tribes for the post of HEAD CONSTABLE (RADIO
OPERATOR)/ HEAD CONSTABLE (FITTER) And ASSISTANT SUB INSPECTOR (RADIO
MECHANIC) in BSF Comn Set-up in the pay scale of Rs. 5200- 20,200 (PB-I) plus Grade pay of Rs. 2400/- per month for Head Const (Radio operator) / Head Const (Fitter) and Rs. 5200- 20,200 (PB-I) plus Grade pay of Rs. 2800/- per month for Assistant Sub Inspector (Radio Mechanic).The post carries, in addition to pay, dearness allowance and other allowances, leave travel concession ,medical facility etc, as applicable to central Govt employees and rent free accommodation ,ration money or free ration a admissible to the members of the Force from time to time. New pension scheme as per Central Civil Services (extra ordinary pension) amendment rules 2003 will be applicable to the persons selected for appointment on the basis of above test.


3. DATE OF COMMENCEMENT OF RECRUITMENT :- 03/06/2009 onwards

4. (A) CONDITIONS FOR ELIGIBILITY

(i) Academic qualifications - Head Constable (Radio Operator)
M atriculation or equivalent plus two years ITI certificate in Radio and TV or Electronics or
Intermediate or 10 + 2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics from a recognized
Board or Institution.

(ii) Academic qualifications - Head Constable (Fitter)
Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised board or Institution ; and two years Industrial
Training Institute certificate in Engine Fitter or Diesel Mechanic or Automobile or Motor Mechanic from an Institution recognized by State or Central Government; or Intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised Board or Institution

(iii) Academic qualifications - Assistant Sub Inspector ( Radio Mechanic )
Matric with Diploma in Radio and TV Technology or Electronics or Telecommunication or
Computer or Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Domestic Appliances from any Institution
recognised by the State Government or Central Government or 1 0 + 2 or Intermediate or equivalent with aggregate marks of fifty percent with selective subject being Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised Board or Institution.

(B) (i) AGE LIMITS :- Not below 18 years or over 23 years as on 04/05/2009 for Head Const
(Radio operator/fitter)

(B) (ii) AGE LIMITS :- Not below 18 years or over 25 years as on 04/05/2009 for Assistant Sub
Inspector (Radio Mechanic)
Note 1 : Age relaxation of 5 years scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and Govt servent including serving BSF personnel, and by 3 years relaxation for other backward classes as per central government rules.
Note 2 : .Candidates should note that only the date of birth as recorded in the matriculation/secondary examination certificate or an equivalent certificate on the last date of submission of application will be accepted and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.
Note:-3 : Relaxation of 5 years of age admissible to the children and dependent family members of those who were killed in the communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat and riots of 1984 on production of certificate to that effect from the concerned District Collector where victim was killed. OBC/SC/ST relaxation as per Govt instructions will be in addition.
Note :-4: Relaxation of 5 years of age admissible to the candidates of Jammu and Kashmir who have ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989.(Any person intending to avail of the aforesaid relaxation shall submit the certificate from either District Magistrate within whose jurisdiction he had ordinarily resided or any other authority so designated in this behalf by the Govt of J&K to the effect that he had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989

C) PHYSICAL STANDARDS :
Height : 1 70 cms
Chest : 8 0 cms (85 cms after expansion)
Weight : C orresponding to Height.
Note 1.- The minimum height of candidates falling in category of Garhwalies, Kumaonese,
Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the sates of Sikkim, Nagaland,
Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir
and Leh and Ladakh regions of J&K will be 165 Cms. The height for all candidates belonging to
Schedule Tribes/Adivasis or Tribals including Mizos and Nagas will be 162.5 Cms.
Note 2.- The minimum chest of candidates falling in the categories of Garhwalies, Kumaonese,
Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the sates of Sikkim, Nagaland,
Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir
and Leh & Ladakh regions of J&K will be 78 Cms with minimum 5 Cms expansion. The
minimum chest belonging to Schedule Tribes/Adivasis or Tribals including Mizos and Nagas
will be 76 Cms with minimum 5 Cms expansion.

Medical Standards:-
(i) Minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of the both eyes without correction i.e.
without wearing glasses
(ii) Must pass high-grade colour vision test.
(iii) Must not have knock-knees, flat feet or squint in eyes.
(iv) Must not be having any defect/deformity likely to interfere with the
efficient performance of the duties.

5. ELIGIBILITY FOR EX-SERVICEMEN :
i) Should have retired from equivalent or higher rank in Army, Navy or Air Force in the same trade.
ii) Total relaxation in physical standard and educational qualification.
iii) Age relaxation to the extent of military service plus 3 years.
iv) Break in service should not be more than 2 years.
v) Should be in medical category ‘SHAPE-1’.
6. FOR COMPASSIONATE APPOINTMENTS
Candidates eligible under this category will have to attach photocopies of all essential certificates
from concerned BSF unit/Estt of deceased/invalidated person alongwith application Form in addition to
other certificates specified in para 9(b). Eligibility criteria with proformas of essential documents have
already been circulated to all BSF Units/Estt.

7. (A) METHOD OF SELECTION :
Selection will be subject to qualifying in all the tests, in the following order:-
(a) Preliminary screening -
(b) Physical Efficiency Test - (i) 1.6 Km race in 6 ½ minutes
(ii) Long Jump (3.65 mtrs) in three chances
(iii) High Jump (1.2 mtrs) in three chances.
(Ex-service men are exempted from
physical efficiency test).
(c) Written Test One paper of 100 marks separately for
ASI(RM),HC(Fitter) and 90 Marks for HC(RO)
comprising questions in Physics, Chemistry,
Mathematics, English language and General
Awareness of 10+2 standard : Candidates will have
option to answer the question in English or Hindi
except the English language section.
(d) Dictation test(in English) - 10 marks - ( For HC/RO ) only
(e) Verification of documents -
(f) Personal Interview - 25 marks
(g) Final Medical Examination Candidates who qualify all the above tests will
by BSF Medical Officer. Be put through a detailed medical
examination to assess their fitness.
(h) Provision of Re-medical: -Candidates declared un-fit in final medical examination by the
Medical Officer of the board can apply for re-medical examination to DIG (Comn & IT), HQ
DG BSF New Delhi within one month from the date of issue of communication by the
presiding officer of the board alongwith bank draft/ IPO of Rs. 50/- (for Gen/OBC candidates
only) in the name of DDO,FHQ BSF NEW DELHI payable at New Delhi and proof of his
fitness on prescribed proforma given by the recruitment board should be enclosed with
application.
Note 1. :- Physical efficiency test (PET) is a qualifying test. a candidate must qualify in all the
pet events serially as mentioned. candidates who qualify the 1.6 km race in 6.5 minutes will only be allowed for appear for the long jump and so on. candidate who fails in any event will be rejected at that stage only and will not be allowed to appear in the remaining events. candidate who qualifies the physical test, written test, documentation and personal interview will be finally medically examined by the BSF medical officer. The final selection would be made on the basis of overall merit based on marks obtained in written test and interview, the candidates are advised to come prepared to stay for 4 days or more.
Note 2. :- Qualifying the tests does not amount to final selection which will be made on the
basis of consolidated merit list of all recruitment centres as per the number of vacancies in
respective quota.

My Problem is that I have got Final Semister exam on 05/06/09 to 12/06/09 and my selection procedure starts from 03/06/09. So can you please help me.
