Chiranjeevi the Telugu cinema megastar and demi-god announced his new political party at Tirupathi. The political party is named Prajarajyam (Kingdom of People). More than 7 lakhs people attended the party launch event in the temple town of Tirupathi.

People were long awaiting this political party and hopefully Prajarajyam serves people well. Chiranjeevi declared the party name at a massive rally in typical filmi style with a countdown before naming it.

“It will be a democratic and secular party. It will be a people’s party, born from the hearts of the people. It will be a party for backward classes, farmers, workers, women and youth,” he said.

“Prajarajyam will work for development, modernisation and industrial revolution. Its goal will be ’santosh’ and ‘ananda’ (contentment and happiness) Andhra Pradesh,” Chiranjeevi told the gathering at the sprawling 120-acre Avilala Tank.

“I know your problems, pains and sufferings and will always stand by you,” he said, while taking the oath in the name of Lord Venkateshwara to dedicate his life to serve the people.

“Today, we are sounding the bugle for a major battle against the social ills. There are no leaders in the battle but only servants. I am your servant. We will win this battle. No one can stop us.”

More than 10 lakhs people made Prajarajyam launch a blockbuster event. “I am overwhelmed with people’s response. I can achieve whatever I want through your support,” Chiranjeevi said in a public meeting on a stage designed by an art director. “I know the pain of the people, their woes. I have always played roles which were close to weaker sections of the society,” Chiranjeevi added.

He played glowing tributes Babasaheb Ambedkar, Abdul Kalam and Mother Teresa.

Broadly outlining the policies of his eagerly awaited party, he said that eliminating poverty, ensuring social equality, rooting out corruption, development of villages on par with urban areas, and providing health and education to all would top the agenda.

Prajarajyam has started with a tremendous opening, lets see its progress in coming week.
