Big B in 'Marmayogi'?
It has been confirmed that ‘Marmayogi’ will have veteran Bollywood actress Hemamalini playing a prominent role. But the biggest surprise that could lead to tremendous anticipation is that Amitabh Bachchan might be part of the project too. Kamal Haasan, it seems is trying to rope in the legendary actor for an interesting role.
According to sources, Kamal Haasan has recently expressed this desire saying ''We are working on ‘Marmayogi’ which will be on a grand scale and Amitabh Bachchan would be perfect for a role in the film”.
It can be recalled that plans were on to rope in the Big B for the Rajini starrer 'Sivaji'. However he declined the offer.
It would be interesting to see if the Shahensha of Hindi films is fascinated by 'Marmayogi'. Sure would be great if he is.

'16 days' completes shooting

Shooting of the talkie part of '16 days' directed by Prabhu Solomon and produced by P Maheshbabu and D Nageswara Rao on the banner of Cosmos Entertainment for a lady-oriented film with Charmme in the lead was completed recently.
Director says, 'The entire subject revolves around the incident that occurred in 16 days and hence we chose to keep the title as '16 Days'. Beauty is not just to be seen with naked eyes but it could be watched by the soul. Charrmme is playing the role of 'Angel' in this film, which is a never before character and one of the best characters in her career. The film had several thrilling incidents.'

Chinni Prakash says, 'After a long gap, I choreographed a song in Telugu. Charmme is an excellent dancer and is showing very good ease in the steps.'
Aravind, who worked as co-director with Maniratnam, is being introduced to the Telugu film industry as hero through this movie.
Manorama, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Jayaprakash Reddy, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Ramjagan and others are in the cast.
Camera is by Sukumar, music is by Dharan, dialogues are by Nivas, lyrics are by Bhaskarabhatla. while story, screenplay and direction are by Prabhu Solomon.
Vyjayanthi to launch a TV channel
The prestigious banner Vyjayanthi that completed 30 years now is going to start a TV channel very soon. Swapna Dutt – elder daughter of Aswini Dutt – is taking active interest in this project and the recruitment process is going on now. They are planning to give a very local name to this channel to make sure that it would be owned by the viewers who love watching Telugu TV channels. Let’s hope that Aswini Dutt will succeed in small screen too the way he flourished with the big screen

Cheating case against Prakash Raj
The city police today filed cheating case against actor Prakash Raj over violation of film-shoot norms. The case was registered under Sections 420 and 402 of IPC based on the complaint from producer Prasad. The said producer launched a film titled Sidhhu in 2005, with Raghuvaran and Prakash Raj playing lead roles. Prakash Raj had declined to take part in the climax shoot, leading to a loss of Rs .40 lakh to the producer. With the same contention, the producer approached the local criminal court, which prompted the Punjagutta police to proceed against the actor. Earlier, the MAA and Producers Council tried more than half a dozen times to arrange a coordination meeting, but in vain. To note here, the Producers' Council recently slapped a non-cooperation stricture against Prakash Raj.

Mahesh fans Yagam for rains
Fans of Mahesh Babu today performed Sudharshan Yagam in a local temple at Chikkadpalli in Hyderabad. The ritual was said to have been performed seeking the betterment of social conditions. The recent social service activities of Krishna-Mahesh Babu fans gave vent to wide talk about their political intentions. However, comedian Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, who holds a key post in the government's cultural wing, clarified that Sudharshan Yagam was done to invoke the Rain god. The same event coincided with the birthday celebrations of chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy today, he said. He desired that the fans should undertake more and more acts of social service.
