University of Horticulture & Forestry Doctoral Programme Admission

Applications are invited for admission to Doctoral Programme in the following subjects for the Academic Session 2008-09 commencing from 1st February 2010.

Admission to the doctoral programs shall be on the basis of merit of the qualifying degree. 75% seats are reserved for domicile of Himachal Pradesh. The remaining 25% seats are filled on the basis of merit at National level by the University. The Academic Council may further approve admission to master's program in respect of the in service nominees of this university/ HP State Government/Autonomous bodies/ other state government.

  • Fruit Breeding & Genetic Resources

  • Mycology & Plant Pathology

  • Fruit Science

  • Post harvest Technology

  • Vegetable Science

Doctoral Programs in College of Forestry

  • Agricultural Economics
  • Agro-forestry
  • Forest Products
  • Silviculture
  • Soil Science & Water Management
  • Tree Improvement & Genetic Resources
Minimum Qualification

Admission shall be subject to the reservation of seats as under:

a) 75% seats shall be reserved for domicile of Himachal Pradesh; and

  1. 22.5% of the seats in category (a) above shall be reserved for SC(15%) and ST(7.5%).

  2. 15% of the seats in category (a) shall be reserved for women candidates.

b) 25% of the total are to be filled up on the basis of merit at National level by the University.

a) The basis of admission shall be merit as determined by the result of the qualifying degree examination..

b) While determining the merit, weightage will be added to the result of the qualifying degree examination for sports, NSS and other co-curricular activities.
