M.S, Ph.D and Integrated Ph.D programmes at JNCASR
JNCASR invites applications for admission to M.S / Ph.D programmes in Science and Engineering from students who have qualified in NET-JRF under CSIR/UGC fellowship schemes or DBT/ICMR - JRF or GATE / JEST / any other equivalent national level exam.
Applications are also invited for admission to the Integrated (Int.) Ph.D. programme in Materials Science, Chemical Science and Biological Science.
Eligibility criteria for Int. Ph.D Programme:
Materials Science: Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science. Those with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with an aptitude towards scientific research will also be considered.
Chemical Science: Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science with Chemistry as a major.
Biological Science:
a) Evolutionary and Organismal Biology: Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics. Those with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with an aptitude towards scientific research will also be considered.
b) Molecular Biology and Genetics: Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science. For all the above Int. Ph.D programmes, candidates should have a minimum of 55% marks at the Bachelor’s level. Candidates who are appearing for the final examination this year can also apply.
Eligibility for Ph.D: Candidates with an M Sc., B E, B Tech, M E, M Tech or MBBS are eligible to apply, should have at least 50% in their highest University examination, and should also have qualified in the GATE / UGC - CSIR - NET, JRF / ICMR, JRF / JEST / or any other equivalent national level examination. Candidates with a Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine do not require a qualifying exam. However, the M E / M Tech qualified students need to specify their valid GATE score at the time of applying.
Eligibility for M.S.: Candidates with an M Sc., B E, B Tech, M E, M Tech or MBBS are eligible to apply, should have at least 50% in their highest University examination, and should also have qualified in the GATE / UGC - CSIR - NET, JRF / ICMR, JRF / JEST / or any other equivalent national level entrance examination. Candidates with a Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine, however, do not require a qualifying exam.
Scholarships / Fellowships / Assistantships:
M S / M S (Engg.) students will receive scholarships of Rs. 12,000.
Integrated Ph.D students will receive a stipend of Rs. 8000/- p.m. for the first three years.
Ph D students will receive scholarships of Rs. 12,000-14,000.
