HIGH COURT OF DELHI : NEW DELHI

Applications on prescribed forms are invited from Indian Nationals for appointment to the post of JUNIOR JUDICIAL ASSISTANTS/ RESTORERS in the Pay band of Rs. 5200-20200+ Grade pay of Rs. 2800 plus usual allowances as are sanctioned from time to time, against the existing 33 vacancies and about 80 vacancies which are likely to arise in 2009. However, the High Court reserves the right to fill in lesser number of vacancies.

Consistent with the maintenance of efficiency of administration and subject to availability, 15 per cent posts shall be reserved for Scheduled Castes,
7.5 per cent posts for Scheduled tribes,
27 percent posts for Other Backward Classes and
3 per cent posts for physically disabled persons (i.e. One leg and one arm affected.)


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION: Graduate from a recognized University and having minimum speed of 40 words per minute in English Typing on Computer .

AGE: The Candidate should not be below 18 years of age and over 27 years of age as on 01-01-2009.
The upper age limit for members of Scheduled Castes/Tribes shall be relaxable by 5 years and by 3 years for Other Backward Classes and for physically disabled persons 10 years (13 years for OBC and 15 years for SC/ST).
There shall be no upper age limit for persons serving in this Court or the Courts subordinate to this Court.
The candidates already in Government service should apply through proper channel only.


Eligible candidates will be required to appear in a written test of two hours based on Multiple Choice Question pattern consisting of
(1) Language Comprehension
(II) General Awareness
(III) General Mathematics &
(IV) Reasoning Ability.

Those candidates who qualify in the written test shall be required to appear in comprehension/essay writing and type test in English on Computer and candidate who qualify the comprehension/essay writing & computer type test will be called for interview. Candidates with knowledge of operating Computer would be given weightage. Final merit of successful candidates will be prepared on the basis of aggregate of their performance in all examinations viz. objective type, comprehension/ essay writing test, computer type test & interview. The candidates selected will have to work even at odd hours and holidays and should bear this in mind while applying for the post.


Application Form
Application Form can be obtained personally on payment of Rs. 200/- for General & OBC Category (Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/physically disabled candidates) on any working day from 06-01-2009 to 21-01-2009 between 10.30 A.M. to 01.00 P.M. and 02.00 P.M. to 04.00 P.M. from the Filing Counter of Delhi High Court or by sending at his/her own risk, a self addressed envelope of 32cm X 25cm size with postage stamp of Rs. 60/- affixed on it along with non-refundable Demand Draft of the requisite amount , as mentioned above, in favour of Registrar General, Delhi High Court payable at New Delhi. Request for sending application form by post must be made immediately on publication of the advertisement to avoid postal delay.

Application on the prescribed Form duly filled in with two recent passport size photographs duly attested by a Gazetted Officer along with attested copies of the relevant testimonials can be submitted personally at the Filing Counter of the Delhi High Court on any working day between 10.30 A.M. to 01.00 P.M. and 02.00 P.M. to 04.00 P.M. on or before 24-01-2009. Application can also be sent by Registered A.D. Post addressed to Joint Registrar (Estt.), High Court of Delhi, Shershah Road, New Delhi-110 003 in the envelope provided with the application form , so as to reach latest by 24-01-2009 till 04.00 P.M. The High Court will not be responsible for any postal loss or delay. The written test will be held on 22-02-2009 in Delhi. In case any candidate does not receive his/her admit card, roll no. by 18-02-2009 , he/she may contact the Establishment Branch, Room No. 255, 'B' Block, Delhi High Court.

The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission at all the stages of examination for which they are admitted by this Registry viz. Written Examination/Comprehension/Essay Writing Test/Typing test and the interview will be purely provisional subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions by way of furnishing documentary proof in support thereof. If on verification at any time before or after the said tests/interview, it is found that the candidate does not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, his/her candidature for the examination shall stand cancelled without any notice or further reference.

Any application received by the Registry after the last date shall not be entertained under any circumstances.

No TA/DA will be payable to the candidates for appearing in the tests and interview.
