For post code 001: IRCTC is a recent entrant in the tourism business with vast potential & rapidly growing presence. Candidates should be self motivated with a proven record of handling tourism business / projects independently. They will be responsible for aggressively developing tourism business in the assigned areas.

The appointment will be on contractual basis on a consolidated pay with an attractive performance based incentive for a period of 3 years & extendable by two years. They will be provided medical and accident insurance covers as per policy of the company and will be entitled for reimbursement as per rules of IRCTC for traveling, boarding & lodging. The existing requirement is for the Zonal / Regional Offices of IRCTC at Kolkata, New Delhi, Chennai/Ernakulum, Mumbai and Secundrabad. However IRCTC reserves the right to post them at any other location as per its requirements.

For post code 002 to 006: Dearness Allowance (DA), City Compensatory Allowance(CCA), House Rent Allowance(HRA) and other admissible allowances will be payable as per the rules of IRCTC depending upon the place of posting. In addition leased accommodation (in lieu of HRA), Medical facilities etc are also admissible as per the rules of IRCTC. The selected candidates against Direct Recruitment will be on probation for a period of one year from the date of joining the services of IRCTC. There will not be any probation period for officers joining on deputation/deputation cum immediate absorption basis. The existing requirement against post code 002,003 & 005 is at New Delhi. However IRCTC reserves the right to post any of the selected candidates against this advertisement at any other location as per its requirements.

Eligibility Criteria for the post

1. ZONAL TOURISM OFFICER (POST CODE : 001)

Essential Qualifications & Experience :Regular Masters degree in Tourism Management or Administration/MBA (Tourism)/2 years regular Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism Management from a UGC/AICTE recognized University/Institute. A minimum of 8 years of post qualification experience out of which at least 5 years in managerial cadre in a reputed travel and tourism organization. Working knowledge of MS-Office is essential. Teaching experience would not qualify for the above stipulated experience requirements.

The Government / PSU officers with above qualifications & experience applying on direct recruitment basis against contract appointment should have worked minimum of 2 years in the scale of 8000-275-13500/- (CDA pre revised) or 13000-350-18250/- in IDA pattern & for internal candidates with above qualification & experience they should have worked minimum of 1 year in the scale of 8000-275-13500/- (CDA pre revised) or 13000-350-18250/- in IDA pattern. Persons taken on deputation would be granted their own grade / equivalent grade alongwith performance based incentives.

Candidates from Pvt sector should be currently having a CTC of minimum Rs. 6.0 lacs per annum.

2. DY.CHIEF VIGILANCE OFFICER (POST CODE : 002)

Essential Qualifications & Experience : Officers holding analogous posts on regular basis in the pre-revised scale of Rs. 10,000-325- 15200(CDA pre revised) or 14,500-350-18,700(IDA) possessing a bachelor degree and having experience of minimum 03 years in Vigilance Department can apply..

3. DY. GENERAL MANAGER/IT (POST CODE: 003)

Essential Qualifications & Experience :Regular BE/B.Tech/Master in Computer Science/Application, from UGC/AICTE recognized university/institutions, java certified and having at least 9 years post qualification experience in Java based Application. Designing Software development extensive using VB, ASP,Java, JSP, Net, DZK, SQL/Oracle 9i/10g, DBA, WINNT/Linux with the knowledge of Hardware and Networking.

Officers from Government./ PSUs in the pre revised scale of 8000-275-13500/- (CDA pre revised) or 13000-350-18250/- in IDA pattern with above qualification & experience will be considered for appointment on deputation basis.

The Government./ PSUs officers with above qualification & experience applying on direct recruitment basis should have worked minimum for 2 years in the pre revised scale of 8000-275-13500/- (CDA pre revised) or 13000-350-18250/- in IDA pattern & for internal candidates with above qualification & experience they should have worked minimum for 1 year in the scale of 8000-275-13500/- (CDA pre revised) or 13000-350-18250/- in IDA pattern .

Preference would be given to persons from Govt./PSUs willing to join on deputation basis. In case the post is not filled up from deputation the same will be filled up through direct recruitment.

4. ASSISTANT MANAGER/CIVIL (POST CODE : 004)

Essential Qualifications & Experience : Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering with 5 yrs of post qualification experience in construction field / site supervision. Knowledge of AutoCAD is desirable.

The post is to be filled up by deputation cum immediate absorption basis from candidates working in PSUs/Govt.Department possessing the above qualification and experience and working in the pay scale of Rs. 8600- 250-14600(IDA)/7450-225-11500 (CDA pre revised) for atleast 2 years.

5. ASSISTANT MANAGER/ELECTRICAL (POST CODE : 005)

Essential Qualifications & Experience : Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 yrs of post qualification experience in Electrical Works including maintenance of sub-station/electrical panels

The post is to be filled up by deputation cum immediate absorption basis from candidates working in PSUs/Govt.Department possessing the above qualification and experience and working in the pay scale of Rs. 8600- 250-14600(IDA)/7450-225-11500 (CDA pre revised) for atleast 2 years.

6. EXECUTIVE/CIVIL (POST CODE : 006)

Essential Qualifications & Experience : Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering with 2 years post qualification, experience or Diploma in civil engineering with 5 yrs. of post qualification experience in relevant field. Knowledge of AutoCAD is desirable.

The post is to be filled up by deputation cum immediate absorption basis from candidates working in PSUs/Govt.Department possessing the above qualification and experience and working in the pay scale of Rs. 6,400- 180-10000(IDA)/5500-175-9000 (CDA pre revised) for atleast 2 years.

NOTE

1. (a) Educational qualification, post qualification experience and age should be as on 30/09/2008.

(b)COMPUTER LITERACY: The candidate must have a good working knowledge of computers.

NOTE

4. SELECTION PROCEDURE

The selection for the posts will be on the basis of qualification, experience & performance of the candidate in the interview. Merely satisfying the eligibility norms do not entitle the candidate to be called for interview. The IRCTC reserves the right to call only the requisite number of candidates for interview after preliminary screening/short listing with reference to the candidate's qualification, suitability etc.

However, the IRCTC reserves the right to conduct the written examination in case the number of applications received from eligible candidates is reasonably high. The details of written examination, if any, shall be communicated to the candidates in advance.

5. The interviews will be held at New Delhi only. However, the IRCTC reserves the right to conduct
interviews at any other place(s) at its sole discretion.

The candidates called for interviews will be reimbursed 3 Tier AC fare for the shortest distance or the actual.
whichever is less. Railway officers, if called for interview should manage their journey by using Railway Privilege Pass.

6. PROBATION:

One year from the date of joining service of IRCTC against Direct Recruitment. There will be no probation for officer joining on deputation/deputation cum absorption/contract basis.

7. HOW TO APPLY

9. CALL LETTERS

Call letter for interview will be sent to the shortlisted candidates at the correspondence address given in their application form by registered post / speed post. Requests for sending call letters to different addresses subsequently will not be entertained.

10. ACTION AGAINST CANDIDATES FOUND GUILTY OF MISCONDUCT

Candidates should not furnish any particulars that are false, tampered, fabricated or suppress any material information while filling up the application form and submitting the certified copies / testimonials. In case of any information being found false before / after selection, the candidature / services of the candidate shall be terminated.

11. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

(1). As the applications are to be processed by a computerized system, it is essential that the application is strictly in accordance with the prescribed format and is properly and completely filled and contains no correction / alteration / overwriting.

(2). Candidates should get the application neatly typed or fill it in CAPITAL LETTERS IN HIS/HER OWN

HANDWRITING and should use as far as possible only international forms of Indian numerals.

(3). Before applying for the post, candidates should ensure that he/she fulfils the eligibility and other criteria mentioned in this advertisement. IRCTC would be free to reject any application at any stage of the recruitment process, if the candidate is found ineligible for the post for which he/she has applied. (4). Candidates seeking relaxation in Fee/Age must enclose attested copy of the certificate in support of his/her claim and should not send original certificates/testimonials. The cut off date for determining age limit and post qualification experience will be 30.09.08.

(5). The Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and the fee once paid will not be refunded on any account nor would this fee be held in reserve for future exam/ selection.

Those who are still in defence service should submit a certificate from a competent authority
that they will be relieved from defence services, within a reasonable period of time.

(15). Any resultant dispute arising out of this advertisement shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the Courts/Tribunals/Forums situated in Delhi.
