GAT - 2009 EXAM PATTERN

GAT - UGTP

The GAT(UGTP)-2009 (Online Admission Test) is conducted to select candidates for admission to the following programs

Biotechnology

Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering

Civil Engineering

Information Technology

Computer Science & Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Mech. Engg. ( Manufacturing & Management)

Admission Criteria :

The following are the criteria for admission to B.Tech and B. Pharmacy Programs.

i) Pass in 10+2/12th examination from a recognized Central / State Board or its equivalent either in 2009 or 2008 subject to securing the following percentage of marks in specified subjects.

B.Tech. Programs : (Except Biotechnology): A minimum of 60% marks aggregate in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

B.Tech. in Biotechnology : A minimum of 60% marks aggregate in Mathematics or Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

B.Pharmacy : A minimum of 60% marks aggregate in Mathematics or Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

ii) Score obtained in GAT (UGTP) 2009.

Note : Students who are appearing for 10+2/12th examination in 2009 or who passed 10+2/12th Examination in 2008 only are eligible. Students who passed 10+2/12th examination in 2007 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear for GAT (UGTP) -2009.

GAT - PGT

GAT(PGT)-2009 (Online Admission Test) is conducted to select candidates for admission to the following programs

Admission Criteria :

The following are the criteria of selection for admission to M.Tech/MCA Programmes

i) Pass in the Qualifying Examination as specified below with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade.

GAT - UGM

GAT(PGM)-2009 is conducted to select candidates for admission to the following Postgraduate Management Programs

MBA (5 year Integrated) with the option of obtaining B.B.A at end of 3 years and B.B.A (Hons) at the end of 4 years.

MFC (5 year Integrated) (Master of Finance and Control) with the option of obtaining B.Com., at end of 3 years and B.Com., (Hons) at the end of 4 years.

BBM (3 years) Bachelor of Business Management

Admission Criteria :

The following are the criteria of selection for admission to PG Programmes in Management

The components of the test are as follows:

GAT - PGM

GAT(PGM)-2009 is conducted to select candidates for admission to the following Postgraduate Management Programs

MBA (2 years) Master of Business Administration

MFC (2 years) Master of Finance & Control

MHRM (2 years) Master of Human Resource Management

MSc (Mgmt.) (1 year) of University of Glasgow

PGADRIM (1 year) PG Advanced Diploma in Risk & Insurance Management

Admission Criteria :

The following are the criteria of selection for admission to PG Programmes in Management

i. Pass in any Bachelor Degree with minimum second class of not less than 50% of marks or equivalent grade. Candidates who are waiting for final results can also apply.

A candidate with any PG Degree is eligible for admission to PGADRIM Programme.

ii. Score obtained in GAT (PGM) - 2009.

iii. For M.Sc (Management) of University of Glasgow, the candidate should have minimum of 60% or equivalent grade in any bachelor degree and ILETS score minimum of 6.5 (preferably 7) without any subset less than 6. The candidate must produce the required proof at the time of counseling.

The components of the test are as follows:

Note: Candidates with valid score of CAT/MAT/ATMA of 2008-09 will be exempted from appearing for GAT (PGM) – 2009, but they need to apply and appear for Group Discussion and Personal Interview provided they are among the short listed candidates.

Group Discussion :

The qualified candidates will be given a topic on the spot and candidates will be divided into suitable groups. Each individual will be given an opportunity to make his/her presentation on the topic followed by group discussion which carries 25% of weightage.

Personal Interview :

The candidates who have completed Group Discussion will be called for personal interview which carries 15% of weightage. The candidate’s aptitude towards Management education, his/her performance in previous degree, qualities of commitment, hard work and temperament will be considered.

The final list of select candidates will be prepared based on the performance in written test of GAT (PGM) - 2009 / CAT / MAT / ATMA, Group Discussion and Personal Interview and the rule of reservation applicable to GITAM University.
