Men’s group ‘c’
Athletics:      1500 M, Hammer Throw, Javelin, Long Jump, Decathlon, 20 Km. Walk.
Wrestling:     Free Style: 60 Kg., 96 Kg. Greco Roman: 96 Kg.
Hockey:        Goal Keeper / Forward / Half.
Football:       Centre Forward / Centre Half / Stopper.

Women’s group ‘c’
Athletics:      100 M (H), 10000 M, Heptathlon,  20 Km. Walk, Pole Vault, High Jump,                              Triple Jump, Discus Throw.

(1)       Norms for Group 'C' recruitment (12 posts) in PB-1 Rs.5200-20200+1900 (GP) for SSC/Matriculate and above or PB-1 Rs.5200-20200+2800 (GP) for Graduates. There is no reservation.
(A)  Represented the Country in International Meets (Junior / Senior Category) in Olympic Games, World Cup, World Championships, Asian Games or Commonwealth Games OR (B) Represented the Country in the Commonwealth Championships & Asian Championships and obtained at least 3rd position OR (C) Represented a State or equivalent unit in Junior/Senior National Championships and obtained at least 3rd position OR (D) Represented a University in All India Inter University Championship organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities and obtained at least 3rd position in Individual event or 2nd position in Team Event OR (E) Represented a State or equivalent Unit in Federation Cup Championship (Senior Category) and obtained 1st position.
Educational Qualification: Minimum SSC/Matriculate.
NOTE:  (1) Athletics: U-20 Junior Athletics Championship shall be treated as Junior Athletics Championship. (2) Wrestling: U-20 Junior Wrestling Championship shall be treated as Junior Wrestling Championship. Indian Style Wrestling will not be allowed.
(3) Hockey: Junior (U-21) National Hockey Championship shall be treated as Junior Hockey Championship. (4) Football: U-19 Junior National Football Championship for B.C. Roy Trophy shall be treated as Junior Football Championship.

(2)       Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on 01/01/2010.
(3)       Only those Sportspersons who have participated in the Championships after 01/04/2007 and are active will be eligible to apply for appointment against Sports Quota.  The selection will be conducted  through trial and interview. Those found fit in trial will be called for interview.
(4)       Postal Orders: Rs.60/- for Group 'C' post Scale Rs.4500-7000 (RSRP) / PB-1 Rs.5200-20200+2800 (GP) and Rs. 40/- for Scale Rs.3050-4590 (RSRP) / PB-1 Rs.5200-20200+1900 (GP). Postal Order should be drawn in favour of Western Railway Sports Association, Mumbai which is non-refundable. SC/ST candidates are exempted from examination fee.
(5)       Last Date of Receipt of Application is 28/12/2009 up to 17.00 hrs. After this, no application will be accepted. Railway will not be responsible for any postal delay. Application as per format given alongside should be addressed to Sr. Sports Officer, Western Railway Sports Association, Headquarter Office, Churchgate, Mumbai-400 020. Applications should be sent by ordinary post only in a closed envelope or to be dropped in the application box provided for the purpose in the Headquarters Office up to 17.00 hrs. on 28/12/2009. No receipt at the counter will be given. Application sent by Courier/ by Registered A/D or Registered Post will not be accepted. Any discrepancy found in the application and papers submitted by the applicant will render the application invalid. On the top of the envelope “APPLICATION FOR RECRUITMENT AGAINST SPORTS QUOTA FOR THE YEAR 2009-10” should be superscribed.
(6)       Note: Kindly bring Original Documents of Date of Birth, Educational Qualification, Sports Achievement on the day of trial and interview, without which you will not be allowed to appear in the Selection.
No TA/DA/Accommodation will be given for appearing in the Selection trials/interview. You will have to bring your own kit and also two-passport size attested photographs. You may also be required to stay during the Selection for 2-3 days, for which you have to make your own arrangements. The Railway Administration has all rights reserved to fix any date, as deemed suitable, change place or postpone trials/interview (at its own convenience), which can also be cancelled due to unforeseen causes against which no claim will be accepted. All documents should be attested. Selected candidates will be posted anywhere on Western Railway.
(7)       The decision of selection committee in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of application etc. will be final and binding on the candidates and no inquiry or correspondence will be entertained in this connection.
(8)       The candidates would be selected for employment only if they fit in the WRSA team.
(9)       Candidates may also log on to: www.wr.indianrail.gov.in and go to “Current Flash News” in right frame and for downloading application form go to Misc. in “Tender Notice” in the left frame.
