| 1) Name of the Position | Engineering Consultant |
| 2) Job Chart | ECs would be the check-measurement authorities on the measurements taken by the TAs. They shall guide the TAs and FAs on quality of the works and the durability of the assets created under the programme. ECs are expected to bring fresh blood in to the department and are expected to maintain strict standards of integrity. This stint in rural engineering is expected to boost their career prospects in suitable private sector. |
| 3) Qualification |

| 4) Tenure | The ECs shall be taken on a two-year non extendable contract as a stop-gap arrangement till the permanent department is established for rural development. All candidates identified under this system have to give a written Bond that they will not leave during the period of contract. They can however, be removed on grounds of misconduct anytime during the contract period. During the period of contract, their education certificates should be retained with the organization. After completion of the 2 year period, they will be relieved irrespective of their performance and if need be chance will be given for the new students. |
| 5) Remuneration | Each EC shall be entitled for a monthly remuneration of Rs. 12,000 per month (fixed) and Rs. 2,000 as travel allowance.. |
| 6) Appointment | Contract appointment orders will be issued from SRDS. |
