TCS PATTERN

TCS Selection Guidelines
=========================

Firstly, TCS has several levels of tests/interview in their selection
procedure.

1. Aptitude test (generally online test) consisting of three sections,
verbal abilities, quantitive abilities and logical reasoning abilities. In
verbal, u r asked antonyms of several words in english language, similar but
less exhaustive than GRE verbal section. Quantitive consists of class X
level mathematical skill testing problems. loogical reasoning will ask you
yes/no/can't say type qstns based on a paragraph. u will have to read
through the paragraph fast but efficiently understanding only the main pith
of the written material.

regading the words, they ask the same words over and over again. So,
memorise
the word meanings from all the papers that i have put up. U will surely get
all of them common. In case, u have given GRE, don't bother abt this section
at all. All words are common.

Each section is time limited. I have forgotten the exact time division. So u
can not afford to waste too much time on any one section.

2. Psychometry: When u clear the above three section, u will be allowed to
appear for psychometry. Its 150 qstns to be answered in 30 min. Always
remember to give POSITIVE and CONSISTENT answers since the same qstn repeats
with a different sentense construction sometimes later. Try to hide -ve
traits in ur character as like being impatient, getting bored easily,
distracted easily, feeling uneasy in a gathering of many people, unsocial
and over talkative nature, etc. They ask qstns like whether u wld make
frndship with a person of opposite sex, feel insomnia without reason,
consistently brood over a mistake u did in the past, the type of person u r,
etc etc. what u r actually is not important, what qualities wld make ur
employers happy is important.

3. After u clear psycho, is ur technical interview. Qstns come mainly from
the projects, experiences u have gathered. They check ur resume and the blue
form and ask qstns from there. Even sometimes they test ur logical ablities
by asking puzzles like the type they ask at Infy. get through with the
project works and stuff and be smart and reply confidently.

4. Clearing technical inter will make u elligible for HR interview which is
also the final stage. Qstns are various types, including ur background, ur
hobbies, etcx etc. They are known to harrass people with their hobbies. so,
whatever hobbies u write, plzz be through with it and prepare so that u can
answer qstns from ur hobbies. Like if u say singing, plzz get through with
ur scale and technical things related to singing etc. If u like reading,
plzz be prepared to name a few novels and face qstns on those novels. Also,
they might try to embarras u by asking qstns of personal and slightly
indecent nature like abt ur boyfriend, ur affairs(if any) etc. Stay calm and
answer them with a smiling face. Keep eye contact. Don't get provoked by any
means.

Thats abt all. They take a week or so to announce results. So have patience
and hope for the best.

THIS IS FOR ALL THOSE POEPLE WHO WANT TO JOIN TCS AND ARE PREPARING FOR IT. TCS HAS CHANGED THE PATTERN OF THE EXAM. I HAVE SEEN A MAIL IN THIS GROUP WITH THE SAME OLD PAPER. FORGET IT.IT IS AN ONLINE EXAM AND EACH STUDENT WILL GET A DIFFERENT PAPER.SO DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME IN TRYING TO GET THE PAPER.PREPARE FROM TCS TALENT TEST. THE PATTERN IS SAME. REFER 1.BARRON'S GRE. 2.QUANT- S.L GULATHI 3.ANY CAT /GRE BOOK FOR CRITICAL REASONING.

Experience
i had my interview today for tcs.
The interview consisted of two parts.
The first part was technical.
The students selected in tech interview were
selected for HR interview.
The techinical interview in my case was little
tough.
Questions from os,dbms,c,c++,java,system software,
and oops were asked.
this was for around 25-30 min.
after this again students were shortlisted for
HR interview.
I was fortunate enough to pass the tech part.
HR interview was again of about 25 min inmy
case.
i was asked about
to tell about myself?
y did i choose tcs?
why do u want to do a job?
will u go for higher studies? like gate ,cat?
can u work any where?
will u sign our agreement?
what are the skills needed to do a job?
what are the biggest challenges of life so far?
what is ur work value?
i was asked about my fav subjects
and some tech questions were also asked.
that's about HR.
i had a tough day it was very tiring
the students selected for HR will again
be shortlisted .
our results will be announced tomm.
i did my best and hope i will be selected.

regarding TCS recuritment is done
mostly through campus selections.
tcs has changed the pattern of the exam.
it is difficult to send the paper because
it is an online test.
each student got a differnt paper.
the test pattern is same as one given in
TCS talent test.refer(www.freshersworld.com)
if u get selected in the aptitude
which is of 100 min duration.
u will have to pass physcometric test of 30 min
consisting of 150 questions.
after that there will be two interviews
first tech if selected HR.

i hope this info will be useful to all tcs
aspirants.

i am fresher like you people..waiting to be placed..
i joined this group 20 days back.. i appreciate the job being done..
now coming to the .. query.. about tcs.. interview, i congratulate
all those who got through their new test pattern..
tips to face tcs.. interview..(IT) questions are as follows..
note:important..
their strategy is stress interview..
they delibrately humiliate you.. ask disintresting questions to put you under pressure.. i am not exaggerating.. its true...
please be prepared to face questions from any subject that is there in your curriculm.. even accounts and other subjects that are there in your curriculm.. specially tcs people will ask you your area of intrest..
then they start asking questions from subjects.. other than the one you mentioned as your area of intrest..
their argument is that you should be able to answer anything from your first year first sem to last year last sem..
here is a list of computer science and hr related questions they ask frequently..

another Experience
I made it to TCS.I have been offered the position of Asst. System Engineer -trainee...The pay is 15000.I will be undergoing a training for 2- 3 months in trivandrum and then it seems they will place me in mumbai/blore/chennai.ok Frenz....apart from the fact that i made it to TCS this mail is intended to have another purpose....I just wanted all of u to know that TCS is not beyond our reach...The receipes to get there is just confidence and communication!!!here are some tips and my experience..to get the call letter u will have to submit ur hard copy resume in one of the TCS offices..In blore u can submit in TCS,ITPL,white Field.I had four rounds of selection..The first one is written test..I gave my written test on 5th of sep!It had four sections:Aptitude:A good knowledge of agarwal should be enough..Verbal: synonymns-This was pretty tough...but browsing the previous papers will see u thru this.Critical Reasoning: This is the crucial section which has more than 80 qns...they will give a para and u will have to answer the qn reg the para and give one of the answers yes/no/cant say.It was bit confusing..so concentration is important.psychometric: they ask u about more than 80 personal qns and the key to see this off is by being consistent in your answers...it seems 20 of them were disqualified bcoz of wrong answering in this section...note:i got the old pattern but they also have a new pattern...
The next round is technical interview...they ask qns from ur fav sub, project,c,c++,ds,os concepts, micro processor,n/w..just sound confident of ur answer...and tell ur fav sub as something in which u r really thorough!!!for me i was asked to explain micro proc pgm and os concepts....they ask personal qns in tech interview itself...
The next round is Hr interview..its very coool.dont enter this interview without browsing TCS website..some qns are...how do frenz desc u?strength,weakness..wat kind of job u want?then lots of qns ab TCSvision, mission of TCS etcTCS was on news recently...do u know etc
The final interview is management interview..here they give a lot of situations and ask how we wud tackle..for eg..conflicting situation,Why TCS(imp qn asked in all interviews),each interview lasted for ab 40 min....but they can all be cleared if u sound confident....so guys TCS is within reach...go get it!!!all the best to ppl who havent got a job....dont lose hope,u can make it to TCS..they r still recruiting ppl.
Then thanx to chetna for the wonderful job...its been a source of promising hope for freshers...three cheers to the ppl who made this possible.....

Syantel : Campus Placement Paper Pattern And Interview

Syntel Selection Procedure Pattern At Chennai (2008)
This is the experience of Mr. Selvakumar
Guys this is my experience at syntel recriutment at chennai on 23rd and 24th june 2008.
First of all am selvakumar currently doing my final year at crescent engineering college.I attented the syntel placement drive at sathyabhama university with panimalar and my college.over 1500 people attented the drive and out of which around 48 got selected. 28 from sathyabhama university. 15 from panimalar and 5 from crescent..............The recruitement started on 23rd at 9am with the PPT.
The Human Resource head took the ppt and set off the placement drive. Each of us were given a login id and password.Plz remember this syntel usually has an online test...............
The test was rather easy but had 6 parts [10-14 questions in] each with a different sectional cut-off and also each section has a timer set usually in seconds after which the section changes and its really impossible to get back to the previous section once the set time expires so time management is one very important factor. After that around 2 pm the results were announced.
Many were short listed and in my college out of 200 people 44 were selected.
The next round is the G.D round.....again beware this is were the maximum elimination of candidates take place. Since we were 44 we were split into 10 in each batch so 4 batches and 1 batch with only 4 people.
The G.D started at 4 pm each batch approx. 4 or 5 only were selected in some there were only 3.Thus the count came down to 18 in total from my college....................
Then immediately after G.D we were given a sheet and told to write an essay on a topic.
We were given "IT a boon or bane for INDIA", after writing we were told to leave and come at 8am the next day, it was around 6:30 when we left..................
The next day we reached there sharply at 8 am.
The next step was the TECHNICAL INTERVIEW Sorry to say this but if you are not technically strong don't even bother to attend this round.......because this is one round in which your skills alone can save you.
They usually ask in which language you are familiar with so say them whatever language you are comfortable with.............better if you have already specified in your resume............
Am not spoofing here but i had the longest technical round [around 45-50 minutes], had a lot of questions from C and C++ i was comfortable with SQL however he never asked me that and started with C and C++ by default.
i answered about 90 percent of them the results came only at 6 pm in the evening and 8 of us were short listed. We were told to go for H.R round were simple questions like:1.Long term goal and short term goal.2.Tell me about yourselves.3.Why did you choose to attend the syntel placement drive were asked. This is the most easiest part
At last they called all who attended the H.R round into the same room where the H.R round took place and started calling the short listed candidates 5 were called my college and I was very happy that i was one among them.
So prepare well guys all the very best.

SYNTEL-Placement Paper-(Noida)
The pattern consist of 3 sections:
1. Aptitude (General) Test 2. HR Interview 3. Technical Interview

Written test:
The first thing in written was to manage the time,b’coz there was a bulk of questions(some ques repeat) in written three different parts were there and each having cutoff range.

The first paper was of English:
In English there were 20 ques and you need to complete it in 15 mins. Those were like paragraphs and synonyms & antonioms. The cut-off range(I don’t remember properly) was 12.

The second paper was of Maths:-
In maths paper there were 45 ques and needed to complete in 30 mins The ques were simple logical. The cut-off range was I think 30.

The third paper was of Aptitude:-
The ques were mostly from R.S.Agrawal.Those were simple.and quite analytical Some ques are repeated.
I think there were 35 ques and needed to complete in 20 mins. The cut-off range was I think 20.The paper was not that tough . Now the toughest time came i.e to wait for interview. That camp-us was a record campus around 6800 students were appeared for that test.the written was held in 3 shifts.

Interview Time:-
There were 2 interviews hr & technical. First technical
1. was to identify Armstrong no. 2. semaphores. 3. data structure, 4. acid properties.
It was from dbms & daa/ds.
Then it continued with hr/personal I’view. (state your hobbies about which you know everything)
1. i’s asked for who scored 6 sixes in an over & who was the bowler Ans: Ravi shastri in first class cricket and the bowler was k.krishan something,I’s able to give the ans of 1st part only.
2.diameter of football.
3.why Syntel?
4.% graph of degree.
5.how much you rate yourself in scale of 10.
6.why we should take you.
7.who is the best footballer do you think and why,
8.do you have any girlfriend.
9.if you were given the chance to go abroad and not to your wife then?
10.your expectations from our side…

Syantel : Campus Placement Paper Pattern And Interview
this is the experience of Mr. Prathik
LAST WEEK SYNTEL VISITED THE UNIVERSITY. 8 COLLEGES PARTICIPATED IN CAMPUS DRIVE ,AND OUT OF ARROUND 1100 STUDENTS, FINALLY 37 WERE SELECTED.
AT FIRST, THERE WAS APPT.
THEN IN APTITUDE TEST, 3 SECTIONS WERE THERE, 1.ENGLISH(20 MARKS), 2.QUANTI(20 MARKS) 3.REASONING.
(20 MARKS)...TIME 60 MINUTES,60 QSTNS.
SECTIONAL CUT-OFF WAS THERE.
1.I WUD SUGGEST TO PREPARE ENGLISH SECTION JUST AS U PREPARE 4 TCS.
IT WILL B MORE THAN ENOUGH 4 SYNTEL, BUT SERIOUSLY DO, DONT IGNORE. ( OR IF U WANT TO TAKE A RISK, TRY TO IGNORE IT).
2.THEN QUANTI WAS ALSO EASY.
PRAPARE 4M RS AGGRAWAL..AS ALWAYS.
I DONT REMEMBER ALL QUESTIONS, ALSO ITS OF NO USE,COZ QUESTIONS DO NOT GET REPEATED. BUT MOST OF THEM WERE ON TIME AND WORK, RATIO AND PROPORTION.
3. PREPARE REASONING 4M RS AGGRWAL IF U HAVE.ELSE, JUST LEAVE IT, COZ IT WILL B DAMN EASY...(IF U CANT SOLVE IT,,,UR NOT GOING TO B SELECTED ANYWHERE).
120 WERE SHORTLISTED AFTER APTITUDE TEST.
THEN THERE WAS HR ROUND. NO TECHNICAL WAS THERE AS PER SCHEDULE..BUT THEN THEY DECIDED TO TAKE TECH.INTVW ALSO IN THE SAME.STIL I WAS SENT TO 2 DIFFRNT HRS FOR PI N TI...
THEIR POLICY IS TO CHECK UR COMMUNICATION SKILLS N CONFIDENCE ONLY..SO B CONFIDENT...GO N GET IT.. FINALLY 37 WERE SELECTED...N I WAS 1 OF THEM,,,BELIVE ME.IT WAS MY 5TH COMPANY..N IKNOW HOW BORING IT IS TO PREPARE APTI N ALL D SAME STUFF AGAIN N AGIAN.....BUT FRIENDS DO PREPARE IT EVERY TIME.
SO ALL THE BEST.....CU IN SYNTEL....

'Mallanna' lands in Hyderabad
Vikram as hero has been paired with Shreya for the film 'Mallanna' and the unit is arriving in Hyderabad, after filming some scenes abroad.
Titled as 'Mallanna' in Telugu and 'Kandasami' in Tamil, the mega film's producer Kalaipuli thanu is known for big budget extravagances.
The movie has been creating news from the very start of its announcement. It has commanded the attention of all by sending expensive video invitations to prominent people in the film industry.
Later an exclusive photo-session on Vikram and Shreya was done in many locales abroad.
Talking about the film, the producer said, they have recently completed a schedule, of filming some important scenes, at Mexico. He added that from 23rd of July, the shooting will be done at Hyderabad, for about a week. The filming will be done at Ramoji Film City and FilmNagar.
Devi Shree Prasad is the music director for this film made on the 'V Creations' banner.

Tarun-Genelia film shoots in Hyderabad
The yet-to-be-named movie starring Tarun and Genelia produced by Sunkara Madhu Murali's Karthikeya Creations is currently shooting in Hyderabad. The film is directed by Krishna Vamshi.
Karthikeya Creations and Krishna Vamshi had earlier teamed up to rended a big hit in 'Khadgam'.
Shooting for the third schedule is going on currently. Some scenes and a song have already been filmed at locales such as Rajahmundry and Amaravathi.
Lyrics have been worked on by Seetarama Sastry and Anantha Sriram. Cinematography is by bhaskar and music by Vidyasagar.

Sekhar kammula Rock Again
The class of real brand of film makers stands apart in the industry, despite the clout and influence they hold on the audience and the film fraternity alike, they would still choose to remain humble and as grounded as before. One such film maker who we are proud to talk about is Sekhar Kammula.
Whatever he wishes to do , he does with utmost conviction, after the super success of his film 'Happy Days' he got calls from Mahesh Babu, Nag and Venkatesh as per grapevine but then he didn't jump into the field to direct those biggies. Instead, he prepared a script again and it is heard that he is now looking to make a film with a hero of his choice.
He is planning to present the movie on the banner of Somu, the producer of 'ullasamga utsahamga' and the other details are yet to be revealed. Meanwhile, Kammula's friend Aneesh planned to do 'Avakaya Biryani' but no news about that as well till now.

'Deepavali' to release in mid August

movie 'Deepavali' is gearing up for release in August and Venu features in the lead role. The movie is produced by Theegala Krupakar Reddy and the director is Haribabu.
Meghana Nair is being introduced as heroine with this movie.
Speaking about the movie, producer Krupakar Reddy, said that post-production work is going on currently and efforts are on for its release in the first half of August.
He also added that the movie is mostly entertainment based, and that the story has many surprising twists.
Vinod kumar, Subbah Raju, Satya Prakash, Brahmaji, Ali, Brahmanandam, Kondavalasa, Chalapati Rao, Sudha, Hema form the rest of the cast.

Bramhanandam Drama Company Movie Review
There are many directors, who could tickle the funny bones, with the movement of the story itself. They could script the screenplay and story in such a way that the scene itself brings smile on the face of audiences. They were able to reap good entertainment with heroes itself. Heroes like Venkatesh, Rajendra Prasad, Raviteja, Vishnu and the latest Ram, were able to give entertainment, despite showing heroism on the screen. There some other directors, who keep a comedy track, which has a link with the story and at times, without any link as well. But, keeping the entire comedians of Tollywood in his star cast, director I Srikanth failed to provide entertainment, though the subject was proved a hilarious comedy show in its original form (Bagham Bagh).
Anandam (Brahmanandam) has two heroes in his drama company Sivaji (Sivaji) and Ravi (Ravikrishna). An NRI contractor (AVS), who was fascinated with the beauty and dance of the heroine of the drama company (Sameeksha) books them to stage shows in Bangkok. Before they leave for the abroad trip, both the heroes misbehave with the heroine. This forces her to quit the job and leave the drama company just before they were about to board the flight. To make use of the abroad trip, the entire troupe boards the flight sans the heroine. They somehow manage the contractor that their heroine was busy with some modelling and will join them later. Then the heroes start search for a suitable face as heroine. In the process, Ravi was able to bring Arpitha (Kamalini Mukherjee), into their troupe. After giving performance in one show, she meets with an accident due to her mental disorder (suicide tendency). Later, she was taken away by one Mahendra (Raghu) who claimed to be her husband. Soon, the trio (Anandam, Sivaji and Ravi) gets implicated in abetment of suicide case. How they were able to come out of the case? What makes her to commit suicide? Did really Arpitha die? What made her to say that she is the wife of Mahendra? Why the gangsters were after the trio? Answers to all these questions form part of the climax.
PERFORMANCE:
It is Brahmanandam, who is a seasoned comedian, delivered good performance in the entire film. All the other artistes, who were also seasoned comedians could not evoke even a smile on the faces of the audiences, leave alone a big laugh. Moreover, good artistes like Sivaji and Sivajiraja too gave a very unimpressive performance. Ravikrishna kept a big blank face in the film. Neither he showed any feelings in his face nor had put up a good body language. Kamalini is the only saving grace in the film. However, she was also portrayed in a deglamorous character. However, she showed ease in a couple of dances which gave a little relief.
TECHNICAL:
Dialogues by Ramesh-Gopi are very unimpressive. Camera work by PS Babu is a big minus. Though a major part of the film was shot in Bangkok, he failed to grab the beautiful locales with his camera skills. Songs lack any foot-tapping dances and music by Sai Karthik is not at all melodious. Only a remix song, which has a mixture of first stanzas of popular songs evoked good response in the theatre. Screenplay and direction by I Srikanth are very disappointing. The director failed to run the film with a good tempo.
REMARKS:
The audiences who go to the theatres with lots of expectations on the entertainment would face miserable disappointment in the absence of any scenes worth watching. The producers who took more than one and a half years to complete the film, were not in a position to release the film in the absence of any takers, possibly because of the unimpressive movement of the film. Somehow, they were rescued by some distributors who dared to release the film. It is very much doubtful whether any of the buyers would get back their money or not.
Cast:
Brahmanandam, Sivaji, Ravikrishna, Kamalini Mukherjee, Sameeksha, Ranganath, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Jeeva, Ali, AVS, Raghubabu, Sivajiraja, Allari Ravi, Raghu, Kamal, Gundu Sudarshan, Apoorva, Sasirekha, and others

Verbal Fight Between Prakash Raj and Trisha

Prakash Raj has been alleged as problem-creator for producers without attending on the call sheets given. There were many complaints on him both in Tollywood and Kollywood. But now Prakash Raj himself is facing trouble as a producer with Trisha. He has been making a Tamil film from quite some time but that halted due to his personal and financial problems.
He took Trisha’s dates to shoot a song in first week of June but he didn’t utilize them as his financial resources were drained by that time. Now again he asked for Trisha’s dates but she denied saying ‘busy’. This made Prakash Raj lose his cool and in turn Trisha also verbally bombarded on him. Prakash Raj gave a complaint on Trisha in Tamil film producers’ council but no one knows how far his woes will be answered.
The time proves to be disturbing for Prakash Raj with professional tensions as well as divorce with wife in personal life little while ago.

Absolutely impressed with the theme, Rajni wanted to take up the Tamil remake and was willing to act in the role of the Mammootty in the original. Without further delay, he called Sreenivasan and from that moment, the project began to take shape. Titled Kuselan in Tamil and Kucheludu in Telugu, later renamed Kathanayakudu, Rajni chose the experienced and wise P. Vasu as the director of the remake. K. Balachander's Kavithalaya took over the production. Needless to say, Rajinikanth's presence in the project galvanized the whole team into swift activity.
Though a remake, the plot has been modified suitably to suit the tastes of the Tamil and Telugu audiences. It is also understood changes have been made to amplify and expand the role of the Superstar; as a result, Rajni appears in over 50% of the film, though he is not the hero.
The theme of the film is simple: Balan (Pasupathy) is a barber who lives a hand-to-mouth existence in his village with his wife Sreedevi (Meena) and three children. A secret love affair, elopement, subsequent marriage, fatherhood and poverty have pushed the barber to the brink and he is absolutely vanquished by the crushing weight of his failure to fulfil his responsibilities. And Balan is a man who just cannot dupe, lie, or commit fraud. So without knowing any means to make extra money, Balan struggles to cope with life and demands of the family. Each and every day poses a mighty challenge to him; there is no money to pay the children's school fees, absolutely no money for everyday expenses, food and clothing. As if all these are not sufficient to stir trouble, his business also goes through a dull period. Deprived of caring friends and relatives on whom he can rely for help and support, Balan struggles through life daily, getting on with the business of living, trying to make sense of life, trying to do his job, to keep his wife and children fed and clothed.
At this critical juncture, Balan comes to know that Superstar Ashokraj (Rajinikanth) is visiting the village in connection with the shoot of his latest film. As soon as he receives news about the shooting, an enthusiastic Balan reveals the precious piece of information that - Ashok is his childhood friend. Coming to know about the connection, Balan's wife and children yell with joy as if they have won the lottery overnight. Also, armed with the foresight and thoughtfulness of a dutiful mother, Sreedevi urges her husband to extract maximum advantage of the connection. Balan, a man of great self-esteem and individuality, is taken aback by the shrewd suggestion. Though he and Ashok had enjoyed a good friendship, he does not want to temper the purity of the first meeting after all these years by asking for a personal favour. Needless to say, Balan is also awed by Ashok's Superstar airs and is not sure whether he would even recognize the poor barber. So what happens next? Do Ashok and Balan meet? Does Ashok agree to help them out? Does he fulfil Sreedevi's expectations, showering fortune on them? Or is he the cool, reserved star who considers himself several notches above the poor barber's social status? Does he feel ashamed to acknowledge his friendship? Kuselan/Kathanayakudu has captured an emotional explosion at this point in the narrative. Wait and watch!
It is a Superstar film, one he has happily accepted! So obviously, the whole industry is curious to enjoy news and information regarding the production. Based on those snippets, it appears there are going to be interesting star-cameos (Sneha, Kamal Haasan and so on) and Vadivelu is going to appear

Nayanatara now charges 1.25 crore
We all know that Nayanatara has hiked her remuneration to Rs. 1.25 crore and she’s getting it! Very recently, when director Lingusamy approached her for a Tamil film, she reportedly demanded that husge amount and he readily agreed to pay it. With Karthi as hero, the untitled flick will be made simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu.
Already she is getting a remuneration of around Rs. 75 lakh per film, especially if the hero happened to be an ‘upmarket’ hero. If the hero happened to be an upcoming hero, she is demanding anything above Rs. 1 crore! Keeping in mind the following she has among the youth, some producers are accepting her demands.
However, some Telugu producers are still holding out as they are sceptical of her worth in the box office. A while ago, Ileana too was demanding almost Rs. 1 crore but since none of her films except Jalsa became blockbusters, she had to slash her fee as many Tollywood producers ran shy of her.
In her quest for the top spot, Nayan is being quite business-minded! Let’s hope her star shines bright for years to come.
Allu Arjun: ‘Yes, I’m in love’

Soundarya Rajinikanth in 'Kathanayakadu'
The name Rajinikanth spells magic even if there is another name before it. The superstar's younger daughter Soundarya who runs a Computer generated Imagery studio 'Ocher' will be part of the famous 'Cinema Cinema' song in 'Kathanayakadu'.
As already reported, the song is a tribute to 75 years of South Indian Cinema and superstar Rajinikanth himself. The song will also delve into the working atmosphere of all the technicians who have come together in making the film 'Kathanayakadu'. Since Soundarya is in charge of the 'graphics' part, she has been shot in a 'working mode' in her office.
Similarly, G. V. Prakash has also been shot in a 'working mode'. Chandramukhi also had its director P. Vasu, producer Ramkumar and music director Vidyasagar egging on the audience by shouting 'Repeat' in the song 'Devuda….Devuda'.
Every single news about 'Kathanayakadu' is exciting and more such info is expected to be pouring in till the movie's release.

Gunashekar oscillates between Vishal and Arjun
Director Gunashekar was once most sought after director. At the peak of his career – Okkadu and Arjun, all the top heroes themselves announced that they were planning a movie with Gunashekar. Some stars even offered ‘bulk’ dates if he accepts to direct them. But the colossal failure of Sainikudu changed Gunashekar’s fate. Now, he is making rounds to the heroes but none of the stars are saying yes.
Only two heroes – Allu Arjun and Vishal – said okay to do his film. Now, Gunashekar has to wait these heroes to finish their current projects to begin a film with one of them. Chances are that his next would probably with Vishal. Danaiah has come forward to produce it. On other hand, Allu Arjun too is showing keen interest to work with the director but it will take time to materialize.

It has been confirmed that ‘Marmayogi’ will have veteran Bollywood actress Hemamalini playing a prominent role. But the biggest surprise that could lead to tremendous anticipation is that Amitabh Bachchan might be part of the project too. Kamal Haasan, it seems is trying to rope in the legendary actor for an interesting role.
According to sources, Kamal Haasan has recently expressed this desire saying ''We are working on ‘Marmayogi’ which will be on a grand scale and Amitabh Bachchan would be perfect for a role in the film”.
It can be recalled that plans were on to rope in the Big B for the Rajini starrer 'Sivaji'. However he declined the offer.
It would be interesting to see if the Shahensha of Hindi films is fascinated by 'Marmayogi'. Sure would be great if he is.

Cheating case against Prakash Raj
The city police today filed cheating case against actor Prakash Raj over violation of film-shoot norms. The case was registered under Sections 420 and 402 of IPC based on the complaint from producer Prasad. The said producer launched a film titled Sidhhu in 2005, with Raghuvaran and Prakash Raj playing lead roles. Prakash Raj had declined to take part in the climax shoot, leading to a loss of Rs .40 lakh to the producer. With the same contention, the producer approached the local criminal court, which prompted the Punjagutta police to proceed against the actor. Earlier, the MAA and Producers Council tried more than half a dozen times to arrange a coordination meeting, but in vain. To note here, the Producers' Council recently slapped a non-cooperation stricture against Prakash Raj.

Mahesh fans Yagam for rains
Fans of Mahesh Babu today performed Sudharshan Yagam in a local temple at Chikkadpalli in Hyderabad. The ritual was said to have been performed seeking the betterment of social conditions. The recent social service activities of Krishna-Mahesh Babu fans gave vent to wide talk about their political intentions. However, comedian Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, who holds a key post in the government's cultural wing, clarified that Sudharshan Yagam was done to invoke the Rain god. The same event coincided with the birthday celebrations of chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy today, he said. He desired that the fans should undertake more and more acts of social service.

Acting is more than skin deep - doesn’t Kamal Haasan know?
What must have been the mental make-up of Kamal Haasan when he took on 10 roles in "Dasavatharam" - apart from feeling a great deal of love for himself, of course? For, the actor who has earlier demonstrated a wonderfully supple range of acting, from a "Nayakan" to a "Pushpak" and many others seems to have abandoned the basic rule of acting: you have to become the role. He now seems to be saying that acting means donning disguises, sans any connotations of the transformative experience that performance is all about. In a story that takes off in 12th century south India and lands in the 21st century armed with a destructive biological weapon, Kamal gets his ’Dus ka Dum’ - scientist, Caucasian villain, Japanese martial arts trainer, George Bush, a grandma and a cop, among them. Several reviews have spotted the Kamal contradiction. In theory, he wants 10 roles but uses them as special effects vehicles to extol his inalienable, larger-than-life presence. That’s how Bush, a Japanese martial artiste and Indian grandma bear an incredible resemblance to one another - that is, Kamal Haasan. From a non-actor, the mechanics of make-up masquerading as performance would be laughable. Coming from an actor accomplished in slipping into roles, it seems criminal. Earlier, Haasan’s body displayed tentativeness — it was open to experience; no longer. Anyone who has watched an artiste prepare for her/his role - before the camera or on stage - is bound to remember that experience. The tuning of body and mind, the concentration of energies, the leap into space discarding the rigidity of a familiar, fixed identity, and the creation of a fluid universe which draws the viewer into its magnetic field - this is the beginning of every journey by a good performer. And, for the viewer, the beginning of the experience of ’rasa’, allowing her a moment of flight as well. Every step is a way of tuning in, as one saw earlier this year when Kathakali artistes from Kalamandalam, Kerala, prepared for an all-night performance in an event marking one year of the passing on of dancer-choreographer Chandralekha. At breakfast, helping himself to idlis, the wiry bodied Kathakali maestro Kalamandalam Nandakumar, clad in trousers and shirt, seemed like anyone else. Two hours later, wearing a veshti, his torso bare, and demonstrating the ’nava rasas’ by performing vignettes from the classical repertoire of Kathakali dance-dramas, Nandakumar was a changed man. In an instant, the slight figure was transformed into monumental forms - sheer energy dancing on breath control. Tuned in, mind and body became a fluid manifestation of a different rasa, a different character, as if it was the natural order of things. It was impossible to see the body separately as a toned specimen that gyms enshrine. The body was the mind and vice versa; a single channel of energy creating intense form after form. Later, we witnessed the make-up process of the artistes, which put in place the final layer of transformation. The make-up of Kathakali artistes, with elaborate costumes, takes hours. Performers use natural colours, coaxing ’paccha’ (green of nobility); red (ambition); black (evil) and white (spirituality). We watched a young man playing Sita put on layer after layer painstakingly. Finally, when the young man rubbed oil on his hands, it was a completely feminine gesture. The make-up process had been akin to a meditative experience of getting into the skin of the character of Sita. One of the female role specialists wanted to know where I had bought the big-sized ’bindi’ I was wearing. No impersonations, these, a la Haasan. Their transformation into the character was complete. Years ago, at Delhi’s Sahitya Akademi, celebrated scholar Paula Richman, whose work highlights the live tradition of multiple tellings of the Ramayana from many perspectives in India, narrated a fascinating incident from Karnataka. An understudy artiste was asked to fill in for the main actor playing Ravana the following evening. Something happened, the actor told Richman — he started feeling Ravana’s strength in himself. Next morning instead of the usual four idlis, he wolfed about 20 for breakfast! Haasan has experienced this miracle of transformation often. As many point out, he played many roles in "Nayakan", evolving from one stage to the other. When such a miracle is within reach, why would an artiste choose to make his body-mind a shell? Be it a Kamal Haasan, a Nandakumar or the understudy, what sets them apart is that moment when the artiste leaves his contours to soar in the skin of another.

Bhumika dubs her voice, Ilayaraja sings song Samudra is directing and producing Mallepuvvu with Bhumika in the lead for Samudra Silver Screen banner. Movie will release in August or September.Dedicating it to Sobhan BabuSamudra announced that his film Mallepuvvu will be dedicated to late Sobhan Babu. One more dream fulfilled

If acting with Rajinikanth in Sivaji is a milestone for Shriya, getting another offer with another stalwart of telugu cinema is a great achievement. Heard she has been offered role opposite Kamal Hassan’s multilingual project ’Marmayogi’. Shriya is on cloud nine but she is yet to confirm her participation in the project. At the moment she is doing ’Kandasamy’, ’Jaggubai’ and a Hollywood film produced by Ashok Amritraj. Shriya plays a Call Center employee in the Hollywood film and ends up falling in love with a foreigner. How they meet and does love really blossom forms the rest of the film. Shriya incidentally has won the heart of Ashok Amritraj with her portrayal.

Asin, Akshay to romance

The film will have 22 actors, including Johnny lever and is ready to be shot in one stretch beginning November 20.
Mahesh's VARUDU with Trivikram Srinivas

Trivikram Srinivas-Mahesh Babu combination had worked wonders earlier in the form of Athadu, and later in their brief stint with Jalsa too. (It should be remembered that Mahesh had share in Jalsa by lending voice vore to the movie.) The star and the director share good rapport, and they planned to work for another movie. Hare Rama Hare Krishna was first planned with M S Raju as producer but the project was called off. Then they finally stated to work on good romantic subject with a tentative title Varudu. And then, they started search for the right "vadhuvu" (bridge) for Varudu (groom). While Trivikram said that he plans to complete the film by the end of the year, Mahesh clearly stated that the film would not release this year. Now, more news comes in about the film!

Based on Mahesh's current image as a hero, the movie's subject has changed. Thus, the title Varudu seems to have been undone too! While the new title is not yet known, it's learnt that Mahesh is going to be shown as even more handsome personality in the movie.

With all these changes, and given that Trivikram takes considerable time to hone his scripts, the movie would not start its shoot until the end of August or later. The perfection that both Trivikram and Mahesh try to bring to the table, one can imagine that there'd be no movie of Mahesh until Summer of 2009, even if one should think optimistically!
The fans' long wait thus comes to become a much longer wait! Let's wait and watch for more twists or plain simple news of the film.

Mahesh Babu impresses with 'Dasavatharam'

Kamal Haasan would be pleased to know that Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu has high regard for the legendary actor. Mahesh Babu was impressed with Kamal's latest – Dasavatharam and shares his experience to the media.

“I saw the movie recently and what a experience it was. It was wonderful film and the way Kamal enacted 10 different roles is simply marvelous. Hats off to Kamal,” Mahesh said.

Gorintaku Movie Review

Gorintaku - Unimpressive and old-fashioned film
Super Good Films is known for bringing out family subjects. Almost all the films that came on the banner could be watched by the entire family by sitting together. A few years ago, Dr Rajasekhar played hero for 'Simharasi' on the banner with Samudra as director. After a long gap, the banner roped in the hero once again for the remake of a successful Kannada film 'Anna Thangi'. On receipt of the proposal, Rajasekhar and Jeevitha watched the film and they were very much impressed with the subject. As the subject was completely jelled with sentiment, Rajasekhar came to a conclusion that he could attract the families and agreed to do the role. Then Meera Jasmine, who had innocent looks and at the same time had enough glamour to play the role of a sister was roped in as the sister. With VR Pratap wielding the megaphone, the film came out as 'Gorintaku'.
Ashok (Rajasekhar) and Lakshmi (Meera Jasmine) are brother and sisters. Their father Sarvarayudu (Rajasekhar), who was a landlord of the village, and mother (Sujitha), die during Lakshmi's childhood. Ashok and Lakshmi turn inseparable. Like any other girl, Lakshmi also falls in love with a boy called Aakash (Aakash), but makes it clear that she would love or marry him only with the blessings and acceptance of her brother. Ashok performs her marriage. He also marry a girl called Nandini (Arthi Agarwal) on the same dais. After their marriage, Aakash and Lakshmi lead a happy life along with Aakash's cousins and sisters-in-law. In a gap of seven years, Lakshmi turns the mother of two daughters and a son. Then Nandini also turns pregnant but suffers abortion due to the intervention of one Kantham, who stays with her claiming to be her aunt. As Nandini's uterus was also removed, Ashok turns childless and to please him Aakash and Lakshmi bring their children to cajole him. By the time Aakash returns to their house, his cousins cheat him and swindle the entire property. Aakash gets jailed in a cheque bounce case. Lakshmi and her children turn orphans. With the Kantham's advice, Nandini throws Lakshmi out of house and warns her not to try to meet her brother. With no way to save her husband and her family, Lakshmi commits suicide with her three children and on learning this Ashok also dies proving that they are inseparable even in death.
As far as performance, Rajasekhar truly lived in the role of a brother. He performed with complete eloquence to win the hearts of women audiences. Especially, he showed good emotion in sentiment scenes. Once again, Saikumar's dialogues came in very handy and they were in perfect sync with his body language. Meera Jasmine is the other performer to make note of in the film. Her character was etched with different shades as a innocent girl, as a trickster, as a chivalrous girl, a loveable sister, a wife, a mother and what not. She appeared a perfect fit in all the shades of her role. Especially, her performance in the climax is worth watching. Arthi Agarwal, the heroine of the film, has not much role to play in the film but to show some inhibition just before the climax. Arthi was able to perform her role well, which has a negative touch. Others including Chandramohan, Sivaji Raja, Surya, Brahmaji, Raviprakash, Hema, Surekhavani and others did justice to their roles
Behind the screen, camera work by Akhilan is okay while Nandamuri Hari did his job as usual while editing the copy. Music by SA Rajkumar is average as he had not much scope to give tunes either with a fast beat or in youthful tune as the subject did not allow him to do so. However, the background score and re-recording should have bee a little better. The basic drawback in the film is the subject. It is aimed at a particular section of audiences — families. Hence the director could not go beyond certain limits with his hands tied with the subject based only on brother-sister sentiment. Screenplay was also very old fashioned.
The story being a tear-jerker, could please the audiences who were in their above 40s. It could neither please the youth nor college going students. In the absence of any mass masala ingredients, the commercial success of the story depends on how the family audiences welcome it. The comedy track picturised on Venumadhav has nothing to do with the film and at the same time he miserably failed to make the audiences laugh heartily.
Cast: Rajasekhar, Meera Jasmine, Arthi Agarwal, Akash, Sujitha, Chandramohan, Sivajiraja, Surya, Brahmaji, Raviprakash, PJ Sarma, Venumadhav, Uttej, Gauthamraju, Hema Choudary, Hema, Surekhavani, Prabhavati
Credits: Dialogues – Gangotri Viswanath, Lyrics – Veturi and Sirivennela, Music – SA Rajkumar, Camera – Akhilan, Editing – Nandamuri Hari, Presents – RB Choudary, Producers – NV Prasad and Paras Jain, Screenplay and direction – VR Pratap.

Kathanayakudu Music Review

Kathanayakudu - A right mix of melody and youthful tunes
The Tamil version 'Kuselan' is simultaneously remade in Telugu as 'Kathanayakudu'. In fact 'Kuselan' in itself is the remake of a Malayalam film 'Kadha Parayumbol'. However, it is learnt that the director of 'Kathanayakudu' chose to improvise the Super Star's role in a much larger way keeping Rajanikanth's image than the original. Hence there is no surprise that most of the songs were in praise of the hero and made the audience to believe as one the reasons for the title justification.
Though the impact of AR Rahman could be clearly seen in his nephew's tunes, one could find his own style by giving a tune which is equally acceptable to both Tamil and Telugu versions. At times, some bits in tunes, remind us the songs in films like 'Oke Okkadu and Gentleman'.
Lyrics by Veturi, Ramajogaiah Sastry and Ananta Sriram were perfectly suited to the tunes making the audiences question themselves whether the songs were first tuned in Telugu or Tamil. Moreover, the songs rendered by top class artistes like Shankar Mahadevan, Hariharan, Kailash Kher, Daler Mehendi, Chitra, Shreya Ghoshal, Sadhana, besides Sujata, Prasanna were quite melodious and surely the album has the chance of reaching the top three in very few days.

Cinema Cinema
Artiste: Shankar Mahadevan
This number seemed to be the theme song / title song and it could be the introduction song of Rajanikanth, who plays really a film hero (real life role) in the film. The song was penned in such a way to explain about film and film making and the merits and demerits in the film industry. The lyricist being attached to the film industry for several years was able to explain about the film industry. As the song had lyrical value, the music director might have chosen to give scope to the lyric than filling it with music. However, he utlised the interlude time very well. The music lovers could easily identify the impact of AR Rahman to certain extent and at the same time, he maintained his own style by mixing Illayaraja kind of melody in the song.
Vatche Vatche Vaana
Artiste:
Shreya Ghoshal
This song appears to be a situational song. The number begins with music of rain and frog noise etc. Soon it turns a little fast number and very youthful. Shreya Ghoshal's voice filled the needed melody in the song. Music Director Prakash needed compliments for honoring the singers' talent without filling in unnecessary music to snub the voice. This made the lyricist to use his literary talents in scripting fantastic lyrics to all the songs. Especially use of very common words in a song lifted the tempo in the song. No doubt, it would remain yet another good song on 'Rain' theme. Traditional instruments like guitar, violin, drums, flute, electric guitar and bass guitar and were aptly used by the music director.

Challe Challe
Artists: Hariharan, Sujatha
This number was tuned in complete melody. The song begins with guitar and ghatam sounds. It appears a duet between the hero and heroine. The tune is in folk song manner as the background songs is the chirping of birds, with light drumbeat coupled with flute bits. Guitar interludes along with bits from key board enhanced the theme of the song. However, the ghatam sound continued to remain in the background. The use of guitar bit before the second stanza is worth listening. The second stanza talks about share market and the sweet and diabetes, which means the couple returned from the city to village. The use of flute in the interludes between the second stanza are also worth listening.

Ra Ra Ramayanna

Artists: Kailash Kher, Prasanna
This number was tuned in a mass beat. Especially the initial music indicates that style of a Sikh's folklore kind of music, followed by traditional drum (dappu) music indicates some other. The humming indicates another kind of folklore beat. The song also penned in praise of a hero and his heroic deeds. The wavelength of music director, the director and the lyricist appear to be in right sync and all the songs had good lyrical values. However, the music director also made use of traditional instruments instead of going for extravagant instruments.

Om Zaarare…
Artistes: Daler Mehendi, Chitra, Sadhana Sargam
This number filled the void that the music director ignored the western instruments in his album. He used several western musical instruments and different humming in the backdrop. Some how, he could not ignore use of traditional instruments and took their help in the last stanza. He chose to use one of the Tamil musical instrumentsm which sounds like a mridangam of Carnatic music, with a different sound.

'Kathanayukudu' music launched in grand style
Music of Rajinikanth’s Kathanayakudu was launched at Le Meridian Hotel in Chennai on Monday (June 30) evening. Both Tamil version (Kuselan) and Telugu versions are released at the huge gathering that was attended nearly about 2000 guests. The film is produced by Ashwini Dutt in Telugu and is directed by P Vasu. A R Rehman’s nephew G V Prakash has composed the music. Hence Rehman came down to attend the function as the chief guest.
From Telugu cast and crew - producer Ashwini Dutt, the other hero in the movie Jagapathi Babu, comedians Sunil and Ali graced the event.
Ali, Ashwini Dutt, Sunil, Arjun and Jagapathi Babu at Kathanayakudu audio launch
The audio release itself was unique. Since the film is about 'friendship', the people involved with the film gave CD’s to their best friends.
Jagapathi Babu said he still could not believe the fact that he had acted with Rajnikant and that too in a prominent role. “Although I finished the shoot and it is due for release, yet it all looks like a dream,” he said.
On the other hand, P Vasu in his speech said the film deals about friendship and the one person in the film industry who does anything for friendship is Rajnikant. “The original writer of Malayalam film Srinivasan might have written the script keeping Rajni in mind,” he said.
Senior director K.Balachandar in his speech praised Rajinikanth to the skies. He compared their relationship with that of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa - Vivekananda bonding.
Rajnikant at Kathanayakudu audio launchRajinikanth made very short speech. `The subject is good and everybody is talking positively about it making me tense,” he said. He also praised the young music director G V Prakash. “He has blend of Ilayaraja and Rehaman,” Rajni praised.
